Shiznitz1801 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Hey Everyone, I know that this was an issue in the past, I've read on here what I could find related to the Synchronizing Cache timeout. Just about everything I found was posted a couple years ago. I tried doing what was instructed and none of that has either made sense or been effective. I'm having the exact same symptoms as listed before. The process writes fully to 100%, then moves into the Synchronizing Cache phase, where it stalls. It does not do it everytime, maybe once out of every 7-8 burns. The drive and everything will completely lock up with the only way to get it to eject again being through a hard shutdown and restart. If there's just a glitch in the program I can live with that. What I'm really seeking is a solution for me to just restart the burn process from the Synchronizing Cache point, if possible. Ultimately, I'm losing about 10 discs or more from every spool of 100 due to this error. I'd really like to find a way to prevent this loss. I'd appreciate any assistance. Like I said, I did go through what I could find on this error that was previously addressed in the forums. What I found did not work for me, however it's possible that I missed a post or did not follow the instructions correctly on one that I did come across. If you know of a solution feel free to draw on those past threads. Thanks Other info which you may want (I have the latest version of IMGburn installed, the one release April 1st, 2008, I'm running XP, I use Verbatim discs)

Shiznitz1801 Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 I actually had it just happen again, but I already had shut down my PC and restarted

Remember to remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before applying the firmware upgrade. You may also want to try burning at 8x.
