Hi and welcome to the forum, davidw! :)

You have version 1.01 of the firmware installed for the burner. The media you are using might get better writing results with an updated version.

There is a later version, 1.04.

When you update the firmware:

No disc in the writer

Tray closed

All other programs closed

Maximum Write Rate: 2,843 KB/s (2.1x)

Check if DMA is enabled.

There is also a later firmware for your Lite-On Writer - version XY13.

The program isn't going to have anything to do with this issue.

If you're not getting video then either the source files are corrupt or you're missing the codecs needed to play such files.

Have you actually got DVD Video player software on your PC?

Media Player won't work (as standard).

Try something like Media Player Classic or VLC. (both freeware)

Get the Klite codec pack, it comes with MPC and all the codecs you'll ever need for playing audio and video....if it is indeed a codec issue.

many thanks for the help. it turned out my video drivers were corrupt, so nothing to do with imgburn! very grateful for help!

cheers

David

LOCOENG - that's one hell of an avatar - where did you get it?
