Jett Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Hi I got up a while ago, and I noticed that the DVD-RW I left to erase is "stuck" at 61%. DVD drive led "flashes, Imgburn seems to be working (at least the menus), but erasing is stuck. I didn't see a "legal" way to cancel the erase and didn't want to force to stop it, since I don't know the outcome. Part of the log for today: I 04:05:03 Operation Started! I 04:05:03 Device: [1:1:0] BENQ DVD DD DW1640 BSRB (Z:) (ATA) I 04:05:03 Media Type: DVD-RW (Disc ID: RITEKW01) (Speeds: 2.4x) I 04:05:03 Quick Erase: No I 04:05:03 Erasing Disc... P.S. I've used this disk for a while now, from nero's point of view this disk wasn't incompatible with the drive, I just hope it isn't stuck because it could be scratched.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 You might find those RW's are a bit rubbish to start with - that's kinda normal for Ritek discs! If it's not erasing then you should probably just bin it and get yourself some Verbatim DVD-RW's instead (or the DVD+RW ones). They're better, but still not as good a write once media (DVD-R, DVD+R) from the same company or Taiyo Yuden.
