wirechief Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I just downloaded and installed the latest build and tried using it with wine wine 0.9.61-1 and 2.6.25-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri May 16 it fails with no devices found, I am not able to get a success with any of the selections in Tools >Settings >I/O I tried every possible option. the results are the same. However I have this working under kernel 2.6.24.14 in a kanotix install and basically had the same problem I was not able to get it to find my devices, changing the kernel back to 2.6.24 worked on both installs on two different computers. I 23:35:48 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! I 23:35:48 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 23:35:48 Total Physical Memory: 2,075,636 KB - Available: 1,822,140 KB I 23:35:49 Initialising SPTI... I 23:35:49 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... W 23:35:49 No devices detected!
mmalves Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Have you tried SPTI with the option 'Use CdRom class' unticked?
Cynthia Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Hi and welcome to the forum, wirechief! The latest Wine is 1.0 RC3. In Wine, load the program winecfg I've had success with the Windows NT 4.0 version in the 'Application' tab for most programs. Some programs never worked if I used Windows XP. Also look under the tab 'Device' that it looks right (that your cdroms are listed).
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 ImgBurn is designed to work fine with Wine configured to XP. That's what I test it under - and I've checked it on RC3.

Just like Magic thank you all for your response, using winecfg did the trick I used the autodetect and it found my hardware. I am aware of the wine 1.0 release however with Arch I have yet to figure out how to compile from source (it is not in there repos yet) just more things to learn, I have used imgburn in my kanotix install and am very happy with this product and has resolved the issue of not being able to read the md5sum correctly. Thanks to all that answered my post. I tried the other solutions but they did not help in my particular case.
