LIGHTNING UK!
Your drive doesn't like the media you're using and is just creating coasters. Get yourself some Taiyo Yuden / Verbatim 8x discs instead.
Cynthia
Looked at some previous posts about this device and I would suggest getting a new external device also. The problem with reading burned discs seems to be a common problem with this one.
Skipdog
Thanks a bunch to you both for your input. A buddy of mine just gave me a few of his discs to tide me over for a while... I use Verbatim's for my CD's so I'll probably go with those. And yeah, the drive that I have has been very touchy from the get go, and it's always been like rolling the dice. I'll invest in a new one this weekend. Again, thanks for your input.
LOCOENG
Suggested drives would be NEC 7200 or Pioneer 115....Lite-On has some strong models as well.

Skipdog
I just purchased a new drive, and everything went great on the first go around. After I use up the other 5 cheap discs, I will switch to Verbatim though. Again thanks for you time and suggestions. I'm now a happy camper.
