Skipdog Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I'm a new user of the program, and each time I've attempted to burn a disc, I have gotten the same error, at the same point... here's a copy of my Log: I 18:21:12 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Your drive doesn't like the media you're using and is just creating coasters. Get yourself some Taiyo Yuden / Verbatim 8x discs instead.
Cynthia Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Looked at some previous posts about this device and I would suggest getting a new external device also. The problem with reading burned discs seems to be a common problem with this one.
Skipdog Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 Thanks a bunch to you both for your input. A buddy of mine just gave me a few of his discs to tide me over for a while... I use Verbatim's for my CD's so I'll probably go with those. And yeah, the drive that I have has been very touchy from the get go, and it's always been like rolling the dice. I'll invest in a new one this weekend. Again, thanks for your input.
LOCOENG Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Suggested drives would be NEC 7200 or Pioneer 115....Lite-On has some strong models as well.
Skipdog Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 I'll definitely look into those two suggested drives. again many thanks , and happy burning to all!
Skipdog Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 I just purchased a new drive, and everything went great on the first go around. After I use up the other 5 cheap discs, I will switch to Verbatim though. Again thanks for you time and suggestions. I'm now a happy camper.
