cd or dvd and what if

I am really new to this and had a few questions.

 

I need to burn an iso file regarding the recovery of an operating system.I have 2 quesions.

 

1) should I use a cd-r or a dvd-r or doesnt it matter?

 

2) the file is 912MB and my cds only hold 700MB.Can I use multiple cds or will this error the burn and then the upload to repair computer?

If it's 912MB, I guess that answers question 1 - you need to use a DVD.

 

An ISO can only be burnt onto 1 disc, it doesn't span them.
