LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 W 10:42:46 Potential 'ReadBufferCapacity' Deferred Error - Write Error Ok so your drive complained about a 'Write Error' - meaning it had trouble burning to the disc. You could try looking for a firmware update on the (laptop?) manufacturers website but you should also think about using some higher quality discs - i.e. Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.
LOCOENG Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 I 10:42:03 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) (Speeds: 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x) Get some decent discs....such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. I 10:42:03 Test Mode: Yes Luckily you don't have a coaster.
Digerati Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 (edited) Hmm burned about 5 coasters today trying to figure this out, all Verbatim 16X DVD+R burned on my Samsung SH-203B (SB01 and SB03) @ AUTO Write Speed. I used these same discs in the past with the same burner without problems before I upgraded to Vista. I noticed there once was a Potential 'WaitImmediateIO' Deferred Error which passed on the second try. I had an ImgBurn.ini in the program folder which I cleared because I figured certain XP settings may have persisted. My user account has 'User' rights but I have successfully burned other discs without being 'Administrator' on Vista. I usually burn at half the advertised rate. I am using AHCI. I wanted to post about this before burning more coasters. [EDIT] I also got the exact same error below with a different DVD+RW disc. mmalves Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I 23:38:20 Destination Device: [2:0:0] TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S203B SB03 (F:) (ATA)I 23:38:20 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: MCC-004-00) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x, 18x, 20x) AUTO uses MAX write speed, unless you've actually configured the Automatic Write Speed feature. Have you tried burning at 16x, since that's the media's rated speed? You may want to try at 8x or 12x too. By the way, there's firmware SB04 for that burner
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Maybe I should change 'AUTO' to 'AWS' as it seems to catch a lot of people out that don't really know ImgBurn.
