randyman Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 (edited) First, I seem to have succeeded in creating a portable ImgBurn ISO of a CD Audio. The first time out, I created an ISO which I then wrote to another CD-R, but it was just one big file, with no recognizable tracks on it. Now (after reading the guides several times) I have a 'testfile.wav' and a 'testfile.cue' and a 'testfile.cdt'. I believe it had something to do with selecting TAO mode, but I'm not sure. In any case, I was able to use ImgBurn to create a working CDDA copy with all 16 tracks on it. (I read 15 pages worth of forum entries and didn't find anything specifically on this.) I think ImgBurn is an awesome program. (This is not a complaint.) However, my (very low priority) question is: Do I need the .CDT & .CUE files, or is there a way to read the existing CD-R into a single .ISO file that I can then send someone by itself, and assume they'll be able to burn it to most CD-R's on the other end? I think this question is due to some idiosyncrasies in the CDDA format. Thanks for your great work on this program. Edited July 13, 2008 by randyman
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 You need the CUE file as it contains all the track layout info. The CDT file is for CD-TEXT so you get a proper copy of it on your new disc rather than the slightly dumbed down version that can be created by reading certain tags within the CUE file. So in short, no you can't have an audio image in a single file.
