Burning ISO will not play in DVD plAyer

I'm trying to back up some dvd's. I use DVDFav to rip the disc to DVD9, then use DVDShrink to bring it down to dvd5 in an iso format. SO far I've burnt 4 discs trying to get them to play in my dvdplayer but nothing seems to work. The computer reads them just fine, of course. Can anyone give me some help please?

Slow the burn down to 8x or 12x and try again.

They're probably not playing because the drive isn't producing a very good burn.

You could also look into bitsetting options on the NEC drives so that it'll booktype DVD+R to DVD-ROM, that makes them more compatible with players.
