I tried Imgburn to copy a Video_TS folder to a DVD Disc. All went well as far as speed but the Disc will only play on three out of five DVD players. The two that won't work just gives me a "disk error". I tried the same Video_TS Folder using ConvertX to DVD and although it is as slow as molasses it worked. The disk will play on all DVD Players.

Is their something I can do to make Imgburn work as I really like the program.

Are you sure your source VIDEO_TS folder had all the right files in it and that the DVD Video structure was valid?

i.e. It would need a bunch of IFO/BUP/VOB files in it.

ImgBurn is not a conversion tool so it'll only work if the files are in the correct format for your player.

I looked at the folder and yes it has a bunch of IFO/BUP/VOB. Both IMGBURN and ConvertX to DVD do the job as far as putting the files on the disc but the problem is the IMGBURN disc will only play on a few of our DVD players, and the ConvertX to DVD will play on all the DVD players. That's what I don't understand. Why some and not all. I like IMGBURN as it is about four time faster than the other but if it won't work not sure what to do.

Could you post the log from that burn that will not play in your players?

You'll find it here:

I 23:03:56 Average Write Rate: 15,451 KB/s (11.2x) - Maximum Write Rate: 22,270 KB/s (16.1x)

Could it be that you are writing at a lower speed in the other programs?

Try to slow down the write speed in ImgBurn to 8x or 12x, to see if those discs can be read by your player.

Can you tell me how to change the write speed?

Change it in this box in the Write mode.

Didn't work. Just not mint to be. Took it down to 8x but DVD player says its not playable. Did check it out on one of the players that worked and it played fine.

Not sure what Convertx to DVD has that makes it work on all players but it does. Just very slow but when thats all you got what are you going to do. Thanks for the help.

Here's yourt main trouble Fred. This media is pretty shabby and many players will reject it. Get better media - we recommend Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. If you must stick with these cheap discs from India, slow the burn down.

I see what you are saying but why will it work with one program and not the other. The player doesn't reject it with ConvertX. Do you think ConvertX makes up for the shabby cheap disc?
