I've been using this for a long time and everything has been fine until a few hours ago. I put in my blank disc and when I hit burn it just starts going extremely slow, like .8 kb/s, and the device buffer is jumping all over the place, never even going to 100%.

How do you get to the device manager?

Posted

Hold Windows key then press Pause/Break -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

or

Right click on My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

or

Open Control Panel -> double-click on System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager

or

Right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager

or

Hold Windows key then press R -> type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter

or

Start -> Run -> type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter

It says to uninstall the IDE/ATA controller, but I don't have an ATA controller.

Only thing is Standard dual channel PCI IDE controller, that's the only one under there.
