tijuana Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Hi! Everytime I verify a cd or dvd some errors pop up. At first I thought it was my burner dying so I went and bought another one. Then I read how overclocking could make writing cds difficult so I went and restored defaults on my mobo. Then I changed my media Brand (I'm using imations now). Finally I got fed up and decided to test my dvds on my player without paying attention to the errors thrown by imgburn. And it worked! The same for some audio/mp3 cds, an nLited windows disk I did, and some other software... all flooded with errors on imgburns verify and all working flawlessly when used. What could the problem be? I've got a Sony SATA burner and am using all default options on imgburn. If you need some more info let me know please. Thanks!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 As mentioned in bold text in the pink box, please include a log where the burn / verify has failed.
tijuana Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 I wish I could, but it's been going on for about a year and I have yet to save a log I'll start saving them from now on though
mmalves Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 The log is automagically saved by ImgBurn so have a look at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs and it'll probably be there

LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 It just looks like your drive has trouble reading CD's. All I can suggest is that you use better one! Taiyo Yuden make the best ones. Make sure the firmware on the drive is up-to-date and that the laser is clean.
tijuana Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 Like I said, this is the second drive that throws the same errors, all the while ripping audio cds with EAC flawwlessly. Besides it's (almost) brand new, so I doubt the lens is dirty (I'll check the firmware issue though). Thanks for your suggestion!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Aren't your audio cd's originals though? Here you're reading from what could be really crappy cdr media.
tijuana Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 true. I normally use imation and cursor dvdrs and cdrs Could you recommend some high quality dvds/cds? Thanks!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Taiyo Yuden for CD's Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim for DVD's
tijuana Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 I'll add them to my shopping list then Thanks!
