Tried using Imgburn to burn an ISO on 3 new Memorex DVD+R DL disks last night. Everything seemed to go normally but they all stopped burning at 76%, 20% and 39% respectively, and I could not get into Outlook or my browser. I also could not stop the burn or close the program, and had to reboot the computer and wasted all three disks. Unfortunately I did not copy the log file, but there were no error messages of any kind.

When your drive/drivers stop responding to commands you pretty much have to give up and cycle the power. It would appear that's just how I/O works in Windows.

It's not ImgBurn that's hanging, it's something further down the chain. ImgBurn is just waiting patiently for a reply and isn't really in control at this point, hence why you can't close it.

What do you have in your filter drivers list? (Look in the Tools menu within ImgBurn)

Is your drive on a decent controller that supports optical drives properly?

Do your controller drivers support optical drives properly? Are they up-to-date?

Also have you tried burning with decent Dual Layer media like Verbatim with the MKM-001 dye from Singapore ? You might get some burns that finish alright with the Memorex ones but I wouldn't bother myself...... :)
