Teddy G Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Hey Fellow Members. I am having one problem with my LiteOn Drive when burning. I am using Windows Vista X64 and 4 gb ram. Anyway when I click on the burn process the systems hangs until the burning starts going. What do I need to do in order for this not to happen anymore. It is quite annoying and any help would be appreciated. The model I have is: LH-20A1L-05 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16827106073 I have updated the firmware on it as well. It says I could be getting 20X but I only get like 6-9x. My log is below. I 17:25:10 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 17:25:10 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium x64 Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1) I 17:25:10 Total Physical Memory: 4,192,440 KB - Available: 2,844,440 KB I 17:25:10 Initialising SPTI... Cynthia Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Hi and welcome to the forum, Teddy G! Sounds as an issue with your chip set drivers for the motherboard. Last ones installed? What brand of chipset is on the board?
Teddy G Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 I have no idea where would I find that information? The motherboard is Asus M3A78. Thanks Cynthia
Teddy G Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 I figured out my chipsets and updated them. It still hangs and here is the new log file. I 18:40:48 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! Cynthia Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 According to the ASUS homepage the latest is AMD Chipset Driver V1.2.0.2 for Windows Vista 32bit/Vista 64bit http://support.asus.com/download/download....SLanguage=en-us
Cynthia Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 W 18:43:23 Waiting for buffers to recover... (LBA: 107808)W 18:43:25 Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level... Happens normally when the hard disk with the source can't feed the writer fast enough. Do you run another program at the same time as you burn?
PKLegends Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I 18:41:34 Advanced Settings - Force HT: No, Online HT: No, OverSpeed: No, SmartBurn: Yes You didn't even turn on OverSpeed. No wonder you can't get 20x.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 OverSpeed opens up new write speeds, it doesn't prevent the drive from burning at the ones listed by default (which 20x is).
