img burn says device not ready (medium not present) even after i put a blank dvd in what do i do? plz help

It'll probably be a case of either:

 

1. Buying media your drive supports

2. Buying a drive that can actually burn DVDs (rather than just read them or burn to CDs).

What brand/model of burner do you have and what brand of discs are your trying with?

 

Have it worked before?
