madcalliv Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I'm trying to format(erase) a disk in imgburn but each time I try the DVD only has a capacity of 2.35Gb. (They are 4.7Gb DVD's) If I format the DVD's in Vista I get a capacity of 4.2Gb. I need to backup my Wii game which is 4,699,979,776 bytes (iso) but after formatting with Imgburn obviously it reports the DVD isn't big enough. Can anyone provide me with some help on how to format my DVD's so I can burn the image onto the disk. Thanks
madcalliv Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 Well, I finally got a disk to format correctly and burnt my image onto the disc. Unfortunately, trying to load them using the WiiGator BackupLoader I get a "DVD Read Error (324)" I've tried uninstalling reinstalling IOS0249 as had been suggested elsewhere but with no luck. Maybe it's my DVD's, they are only Tesco make afterall. What's the recommended DVD type, I'm using RW+'s at the moment but I've heard DVDr- are the best.
cornholio7 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 verbatim and taiyo yuden are about the best on the market, if you want to use rewritables, try verbatim
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 The Wii drive isn't built for reading writable discs at all, using REwritable discs is probably just asking for trouble because they're never as good / readable as write once media.
