mmalves
As LUK said in this thread: You've got bad controller drivers on, try updating them. Your drive should not be showing up as 'Fibre'. The nvidia driver is buggy, so try the Windows default driver or an older version of the nforce drivers.

At first I didn't really understand what LUK said, but I went into the "Device manager" and "Restored previous drivers" on "NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller" so it took Windows standard drivers, this fixed the problem and I will hopefully continue to burn with 100% successrate again. If you don't I would recommend you checking that the cables are attached properly to the burner. Only thing I could come to think about with the drive dissappearing totally. LIGHTNING UK!
fishboy, if you can't see your drive in explorer you probably have a nasty filter driver installed that's not playing nicely. Post the filter driver info - you can get at it via the Tools menu.

LIGHTNING UK!
Ok, nothing to remove there so it must be some other issue. Try uninstalling the controller entry from the ide/ata/atapi/raid controller branches in device manager and then rebooting.
