h8uthemost Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Hey guys, I just found out I can burn .avi's to DVD with ImgBurn. But I'm using Ubuntu 8.10. And on the home page it says ImgBurn works under Wine. So I downloaded it and installed it. I started the program app up, and in the bottom left hand corner of the app I get an message saying No Devices are Detected. Has anyone else came across this? And what could be the solution to get imgburn to recognize my DVD burner. Thank you for any help. It'll be really appreciated.
cornholio7 Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 take a look at this guide http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5317 i got imgburn to work fine in wine using ubuntu
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 It's not for ImgBurn to recognise it, it's for Wine to make it available. Configure Wine correctly and ImgBurn will work just fine.
h8uthemost Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 (edited) Success! Thank you for the guide. I didn't go into Wine config box and hit the Auto Detect button when I first installed Wine ages ago. Anyways, thanks again. Now to make an .avi viewable on a DVD(Video DVD not Data DVD), all I do is click Write Image File to Disc tab, then select the .avi and burn it? Thanks again for the help. EDIT: Hmmm...weird. I just tried to open a .avi, and imgburn tells me it's an unsupported file format. The name of the file is coa-lakeview-xvid.avi. Edited December 19, 2008 by h8uthemost
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Write mode burns disc images.... an AVI file is not a disc image. If you don't know how to use the program, please read the guides.
