There's firmware 1.09 available for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished. You might want to try the other available write speeds, but that's crappy media in any case

One more thing, occasionally, I still get this error... what's this mean? W 20:35:40 Failed to Write Sectors 804032 - 804063 - Reason: Power On, Reset, or Bus Device Reset Occurred
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 That's bad and could be a driver issue. What controller is your drive attached to?
nooneyouknow Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 what do you mean 'what controller' ?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 What make is the controller your drive is plugged into? i.e. intel, nvidia, jmicron, silicon image. I guess an easier question would be 'Which motherboard do you have?'
cornholio7 Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 intel controller (ICH5 if i remember correctly)
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Have you made sure the cable is a decent 80 wire one? Is the drive at the end of the cable? Is the jumper on the drive correctly set on 'Master' and not 'Cable Select' or whatever?
