sleekmeek Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hello, I am having problems with my DVD burner, I can't burn using any software and when I try to use ImgBurn I get the following error when I turn my external drive on: I/O Error! LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 It looks like you have a general communications problem there. Have you tried a new lead with your enclosure... or a different usb port? Maybe it's caused by a dodgy filter drive or other low level device driver that's been installed?
sleekmeek Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Thanks for the reply, I have tried a new lead and different USB port. Do you think it might be worth formatting the hard drive and starting a fresh to see if that removes any problematic drivers? Or is there an easier way of doing this? LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I guess you could try with a clean install, it certainly wouldn't do any harm!
