Now i am using Atita The shop where i bought my dvd recorder advised me to use these. they said it was almost as good als the verbatim, only half the price...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Of course they said that, they want to sell them If the Verbs detailed in that thread don't work then your drive is probably faulty.
prikprikprik Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Of course they said that, they want to sell them If the Verbs detailed in that thread don't work then your drive is probably faulty. i've ordered some verbatim disks, should be delivered somewhere this week. So if my drive doesn't work properly, i shoul use another drive. but what drive shold be a good one to use?
prikprikprik Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 the firmware upgrade doesn't work, ik says update doesn;t work
Cynthia Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 It should say something more specific if it doesn't work. Perhaps the download got corrupt?
prikprikprik Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 it says: update failed. thats all...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Try using binflash. http://binflash.cdfreaks.com/ Get the Win32 gui one, load it up and click 'Flash'. Point it to the 'AD7200S_1090W_1531.exe' file and see if that works.

This is the firmware that i have downloaded from the sony-optiarc site...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 AD-7200S is what you've got and AD-7200S is the firmware you've downloaded. So really there shouldn't be any problem flashing the drive. Do you have another PC you could connect the drive to and try it in there?
Cynthia Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 There is an even later version here - version 1.0A. http://www.sony-optiarc.us/en/support-serv...-ad-series.html

LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 It's probably due to the controller your drive is connected to and the mode it's in / driver that's in use. Do you have access to any other PC's you could try it in?
