Unable to burn .img files as .iso... please help

Hi,

I have recently installed ImgBurn and while i think it is wonderful, i am unable to burn .img files (dumps of office 2007 provided by microsoft) to the dvd as .iso. I am sure it is my lack of knowledge. When the files get written on the DVD they remain in the .img format. I managed to successfully save the .img as a .iso file on my desktop but even when i try to copy that it turns back into a .img file when written to the DVD. Please can someone advise how to do it.

PS: I run vista. Dunno if it is important but thought of mentioning it.

Hi there,

Thank you for your help. I did that. I opened ImgBurn, selected "write image file to disk" and saw that the mode changes to write mode. Then i added the files and clicked the burn button. They get written on the DVD as .img files which are unusable.

I basically have an image file of MS Office and i need that to be burned in such a way that it opens like a setup file in a normal MS Office DVD.

Please see if you could help. Apologies and thanks.

ok... thanks no need for you to fret any more with this novice on this issue :) (there is a new problem below)

i simply stuck to your instruction and first clicked on the write mode instead of selecting write image to disk... and hey presto it worked!

but now i see a different problem :(

i had selected 7 .img files to be written and it writes only one and then ejects the DVD. I am using DVD-R and it does not write all the files before ejecting.

Thanks again.

An image file represents the entire disc.

i.e. 1 image file per disc.

btw, clicking 'Write image file to disc' does exactly the same thing as you clicking Write mode.

If you ended up with actual img files on your disc then you must have been using Build mode - 'write folders/files to disc'.
