samyize
Have gotten this error using memorex discs and have coastered 9 in a row so far. So I am sure it is not the disks. It always gives me this error between 50 and 60 percent. Have tried everything. I/O Error! LIGHTNING UK!
I assume that when 'trying everything' you switched the write type between DAO/SAO and Incremental? Default is DAO/SAO. If the drive can't burn those discs (which are crappy 'RITEK-S04-66' ones) at 2.4x or 4x and the firmware is up-to-date then I suggest you read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
samyize
If it isnt the discs wouldn't I get errors at different percentages and sectors. But since I am getting them all between 50 and 60 % I feel like its something else.
volvofl10
between 50-60% is on layer 2, under layer 1. this is when the laser struggles to see 'thru' the first layer. Thats when the quality of the media comes into it as you said, its at differant percentages but its always on layer 2 !
