new and lost

Hi, I'm a noob and have a problem. I am trying to make a dvd of my windows7 download. I got ImgBurn to burn the ISO file to disc. Well, I've been trying for a couple of days and haven't managed yet. I'm thinking it's more of a problem with my burner and software than with ImgBurn but I can't figure it out. I've got the latest drivers and firmware I can get for my samsung cddvd burner. I've messed up seven dvd discs in the last couple of days trying. I seem to keep getting the same messages. I'm attaching the last system log. It seems to start ok then stops and seems to be some kind of controller error. The whole system is about six months old and I did build it myself. Its a fairly good computer. I'll put the specs at the end in case they are relevant. I am running xp pro. I have downloaded a couple of codec packs. Anyway, I hope someone can help. I want to get this disc burned and do a dual boot to run windows 7 along with my xppro. I only have a few more days they say while the key is good. So any help will be appreciated. I'm expecting it to be something basic I just haven't done.

Hi and welcome to the forum, pirate1! :)

There is a later firmware to install for that writer - SB02.

8x write speed might work better.

Is it a Nvidia based motherboard?

Thanks. I thought I had the latest firmware but I didn't have that one. It is a Nvidia based motherboard. I installed the firmware and the same thing happened. That makes 8 dvds I probably won't be able to use for anything. Oh well, at least I do have the newest firmware for the player now. Hopefully, someone will come up with another suggestion.
