Hi very first time on this forum so please be gentle :-). How do I convert mp3 files to wav (or any format that plays on basic cd players) before I burn to disc. When i burn cue file it just burns mp3 tracks to the cd disc as mp3s. the reason i got img burner was to create basic cds for old fashioned player that won't play mp3s. Help

Thanks

How do i convert mp3 files to wav(or basic cd format) before burning to disc?

Hi and welcome to the forum, dare2winitall! :)

Shouldn't be needed. Try this guide.

Hi Cynthia,

Nope tried that guide it doesn't answer my problem unfortunately. It does not tell me how to convert from mp3 to wav. When i make an image of the mp3 files it just takes them as is and burns them as mp3 files on to the disc. which would be fine but i actually want them in the basic cd format to play on a cd player that does not play mp3s? Can you tell me how to img burner can convert the mp3 files before i burn them onto disc?

I added some .mp3 files in the Create CD-Cue file module and burned them to a CD. This is on the CD after the burning.

You mean you didn't change any default settings? I burned my tracks but they remained in mp3 format. In fact just before i go to burn, i can see only 8% of the disc is going to be used and i know that isn't right because there are already too may tracks. I thought I would at least get a message or prompt saying that i had too many tracks for an ordinary cd. But it just goes ahead and burns as mp3.

Yes, if you follow the guide properly it'll work just fine.

Hi, I hope I am not hijacking this topic, but my question is exactly the reverse and I have not found it asked on any previous threads. I have recently used two different pieces of software, one used to convert from my commercial cds to the mp3 format, and the second to burn new cds in that format. I have just downloaded Imgburn, but don't have any cds with which I want to practice the conversion/burn process. In this thread I don't see in the screen shots where you tell the software to convert the files to the mp3 format before burning. Will it be obvious when I actually get a new cd whose tunes I want to add to an existing partially filled mp3 formatted cd?

I'm not sure how actually relavent this actually is but you can convert to and from WAV and mp3 by using a free program called Switch. You can then mount the wav to disc using IMG burner or vise versa. Simples >_<

Well i'm pretty new here, but I'm mostly using Audacity for audio conversion and editing. It opens any mp3 file then you can save it as wave (.wav extension) file. Though the program is pretty usefull...
