dR03 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) Everytime I write an IMG my device buffer drops every 500MB, very strange. DMA is enabled and working. The top "buffer" indicator never drops under 100% Here's a screenie attached! any suggestions? Edited March 1, 2009 by dR03
mmalves Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 That's normal and most likely due to active OPC. By the way, there's firmware 1.07 available for your NEC burner

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Different OPC Cynthia. That one wouldn't have any effect on the burn graph as it's just one command issued before the burn starts. The Walking/Active/Online one is what causes the regular dips in the buffer/write speed graph.
dR03 Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 but would those regular dips cause disc errors on playback? or are they normal?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 They're perfectly normal. The drive just takes a second to recalibrate the laser power in an attempt to give you the best burn possible.
