virtuman1980 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 (edited) As suggested, I bought a cake of 10 Verbatim Double Layer DVD+R DL discs. Unfortunately, my first 2 burn failed and I'm afraid to try another (don't want to waste anymore discs). Also, before the disc began to burn, the writer made an awfully loud clunking sound as if the disc was spinning out of control and hit some of the hardware inside the burner. Can someone tell me what I did wrong? Thanks again. Below is the log: I 20:57:37 ImgBurn Version 1.2.0.0 started! cornholio7 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 1x is not supported by the disc , try 2.4x and update your firmware to DL13 http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2126
yatzek Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 HI, I do have the same problem as virtuman. The burn process stops with the same error. Just to be sure Itried again but with 2.4x speed and still the software wasn't able to burn the image. Image was created by decrypter, as an ISO on my BENQ1640 BSMB firware. To avoid problems with the disk quality, I ordered a 10 Verbatim's DL from blankmedia.ca. here are the logs: 1. I 14:31:30 ImgBurn Version 1.2.0.0 started! Kenadjian Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 BENQ DVD DD DW1640 BSMB You are two versions behind in your firmware, I'm sure that will fix your problem, link below. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2053
yatzek Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 don't know why, but the BSMB is the latest firmware on the benq.ca website. I do not see there BSNB or BSNB. Are those ones official firmware upgrades or the "community" ones? I am asking because my drive is still under warranty so I would prefer to stay on the official firmware for now.
Numbers Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 They are official updates and are shown on the global Benq site. BSNB Release Reason: 1. Fixed QScan does not work properly. 2. Improved the writing quality of 4x DVD+/-R media. 3. Supported FTI 16x DVD-R media BSOB Release Reason: 1. Fixed DVD-DL PTP format disc cannot be played issue in BSNB
