ISO burn successful, nothing on disc

Hello,

I am a new user trying to burn an image file to disc so that I may update the firmware for my Pioneer BDP-51FD Blu-Ray player. I have tried a few times with CD-RW media and received a successful confirmation at the end, but when I explore the contents of the disc there is nothing on it, yet the program shows that the disc needs to be erased as if something IS on it. I tried the disc in the Pioneer anyway & it displays "can't play" when inserted. I have had a similar problem with another freeware burn program... advice? Included is the last log where I tried twice to burn it. Thanks!!

Assuming that ISO was pre-built and exactly as you downloaded it from Pioneer, it burnt and verified just fine so if your player won't accept it, it's probably down to the media you're using.

Try it on a decent (Taiyo Yuden) CD-R (not CD-RW) or a Verbatim / Taiyo Yuden DVD-R.

update:

I built a new file with "ISO....+UDF" checked, saved the file, burned it again & it DID show up on the disc this time. However, when I placed it in the player it read "DATA DISC" and did nothing else; it is supposed to read "DATA DWLD" according to Pioneer. I reburned the same file but checked "include hidden files" option b/c Pioneer made mention of a file that may show as hidden. Same thing happened upon loading disc into player. Granted, I am using CD/RW that have been erased before, so I will try to find some brand new blank media & try all of these methods again. Thanks in advance for any updated tips.

Delete your ISO, clear your browser's cache then download it again. Use WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract the ISO image from the ZIP archive you've downloaded (they'll ensure it's correctly extracted). Then burn with ImgBurn to a CD-R (preferably) or a CD-RW and have Verify enabled.
