steveu812 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 My system is a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5ghz. 4GB ram. 250GB int. 750GB ext. drives. DVD writer is a Sony (I'm at work and I didn't write down the model number, but I've researched it at home to confirm it's DL compatible. I also used a trial version of some DVD copy program and was able to produce a full copy of a 2+ hour movie to a standard DVD-R disk. My process so far has been: Use Pinnacle 9+ to edit and the render a file. I then used the Guide for Creating a double layer ISO on your hard drive using ImgBurn to try and get it to a DVD. The first time I tried I got the "Optimal L1 Data Zone Start LBA None Found! (VTS_01)" error. Note that my "Create Layer Break Position" dialog had all SPLIP = "Yes" and I'm under the impression that one I needed to select one to tell it where to split the image. Searching on the "...LBA None Found.." error I found a post that told me to use VOB Blanker I did and this is what it looked like in VOB Blanker: I ran the "PROCESS!!" and it finished w/o errors. I went back to ImgBurn and started the DL routine again. This is what my "Create Layer Break Position" looked like after VOB Blanker: I ran the build anyway, but when I went to "Write Files/Folders to Disc" I got this: I went back to VOB Blanker and selected the only row in "PGCs in Selected TitleSet" and hit the "Blank" button, and then re-ran the process, but the resulst were still "not enough space" Any help would be appreciated. LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 If you want to burn a double layer image you'll need double layer discs. Buy DVD+R DL, not DVD-R DL and make sure they're Verbatim 2.4x ones with the MKM-001-00 dye.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Time means nothing, it's all about the bitrate of the video. If you lower the bitrate enough you can fit loads on a disc... make it higher and you'll get much less. So if you want to burn to single layer media, go back to your original set of files and 'shrink' them so they fit on a SL disc. Nero Recode can be used for that, along with DVD Shrink and DVD Rebuilder etc.

I wondered if that was what was happening as I know you can't get something for nothing - but the original and the copy look of comparable quality. That said, I supposed I need to consider that I'm using a 1980's TV to review them huh?
