Burn Problem/Read Problem/....Definitely a problem!

Ok.

I'm trying to burn an .iso of an xbox 360 game. I've used abgx360 to ensure that the file isn't corrupt, and I've tried two separate ones to check.

ImgBurn stated that the program had completed it's operation successfully, so I'm assuming that it's the way I've got it set up that is sending the whole thing to soddery, rather than the program having a fault. I've searched al morning for a solution, and I think it might have something (Or everything0 to do with my 'Book Type'. I have a few screenshots below to illustrate my idiocy, and would appreciate some help.

This is what it says on the ImgBurn program as I'm about to set the .dvd file away. Note, it says the Book Type is DvD+R DL....more on that in a sec.

This is what happens when I try and alter the Book Type to DvD-Rom, as I've read that I should. Note that although the last picture says 'Success', I can quantify that it was only a success if I wished to change bugger all. Picture titled 'Fail' for a reason.

This is what happens when I try an alternate method of altering the Book Type to DvD-Rom. I searched my drive on the internet, and it came up as a Samsung model number (Although, as you can see, my drive isn't actually a Samsung one), which is why I was trying to alter on the Samsung tab. Nutech was the only tab that gave me a 'current setting', though, so I thought I may as well see if I could change it, and give it a go. Picture titled 'Fail2' for a reason.

Feel free to request anything else that i can provide that may help me solve my little dilemma.

Thanking you kindly for even reading this far, and even more so if you can be forthcoming with aid.

It's been a long morning.

Sorry, quick edit, just to add;

My problem is that although the two programs on my PC (ImgBurn and abgx360) state that everything is A-Okay with the disc I'm burning, when I put it into my xbox, it attempts 'Reading', then gives up and offers me the option of 'Open Tray', presumably to enter a disc, as this is the option I get if there is no disc present in the tray.

2nd Edit.

I'm using Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL discs.

Post a logfile of the successful birn please.

Just going through another set now, I'd closed the program after the last attempt.

20% through, at time of typing.

ImgBurn will automatically booktype on that drive, you don't need to do anything.

Note that the booktype gets changed AFTER the burn, not before it. So an empty disc will always show DVD+R DL.

When you burn, make sure you Verify too.

Update your firmware to the latest one - http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_612-fil...P_SB01.exe.html

If 2.4x fails (on the Verify stage), try 4x. The Samsung might do better job at that speed.

Hmm that doesn't seem right.

Extract that exe you download (using WinRAR or something) to a folder.

You should end up with 2 files.

SH-S203P_SB01.bin

Tsdnwin.exe

Run the Tsdnwin one, select your samsung drive in the list and then get me another screenshot please.

You can also try clicking 'search', selecting the SH-S203P_SB01.bin file and seeing if that works.

And end result; absolutely nothing showing on the xbox, again.

I get 'Reading' for maybe 15secs, and then the option to 'Open Tray'.

You know that the machine won't just play backups by default yeah?

Oh and I edited my previous post if you didn't notice.

Yessir, it has played back up's as recently as yesterday, though not one I had burned myself.

I've only just seen the edited post, I'll try that now.

It has since stated 'Download OK, restart windows, which I've delayed to post this, but will do now.

You should probably try a 4x burn after that.

If it still doesn't work then I'm out of ideas.

It's burning and verifying fine so if the images are ok and your console can play backups, I see no reason for it not to work.

I got an 'Installed okay' message upon restart, so I'll give a x4 burn a go.

Could my DvD burner be the problem?

I can't see why it would be, but it's the only thing I can think of....

Woooooo!

x4 and with the new firmware, and it worked!

Thank you very, very kindly, Sir.
