Just installed IMGburn Ver 2.4.3.0 on my Dell Inspiron 530 with a single TSST TS-H653B Running Vista 32bit

I'm getting the following log.

I 09:00:53 ImgBurn Version 2.4.3.0 started!

I 09:00:53 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1)

I 09:00:53 Total Physical Memory: 3,405,072 KB - Available: 1,761,660 KB

I 09:00:53 Initialising SPTI...

I 09:00:53 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

E 09:00:56 CreateFile Failed! - Device: '\\.\CdRom0' (E:)

E 09:00:56 Reason: Access is denied.

W 09:00:56 Errors were encountered when trying to access a drive.

W 09:00:56 This drive will not be visible in the program.

E 09:00:56 You need Administrative privileges to use SPTI.

W 09:00:56 No devices detected!

I know the drive is good because I just used CloneCD to burn an image and Clone DVD to burn a DVD.

Can anyone help me get this drive recognized?

Many thanks

I don't use Vista at all but try this:

Open ImgBurn

Select TOOLS then SETTINGS from the menu

Select the I/O tab

Select ElbyCDIO as the interface and hit OK

Quit ImgBurn and start it again.

See how you go.

You shouldn't need to be anything special in vista.

Even with UAC on default settings you can still burn.

I must admit that I've never tried making a 2nd 'normal' user and seeing what they can/can't do.

Try using the unlocker program or process explorer to see if anything is actually using the drive and blocking ImgBurn from accessing it.

Hey All,

Thanks for the insights. I got home tonite and rebooted the computer and now everything seems to be working.

I guess the Dell was just tired.

Anyway.

Thanks so much.
