I have tried burning an ISO image onto several DVD-R disks which I know for certain to be brand new and am getting "Disk Not Empty." I have tried this on two separate computers with DVD burning drives and both give same message. Im using Memorex DVD-R Disks.

Do both machines give exactly the same info?

What other cd/dvd related software do you have installed?

I really can't imagine both machines would give exactly the same info if the discs really were blank - assuming no other software is messing with the info returned by the drive.

Does it recognise originals / previously burnt discs properly?

ok, I just cracked open this stack of new cds. First 2 cds gave the Disc Not Empty message, Third disk just worked. It is beyond me why that happened.

Maybe someone had those discs before you and took them back because the RITEKF1 dye is shite.

And then they replaced the torn paper label and put new shrink wrap on the base and cover. In my case the DVDs could not be more fresh.

the discs aren't good, look at the tests made in the media section, the results show this.

buy some quality media like verbatim or taiyo yuden if you can get them :)
