  2. CMCMAG-BA5-000 disks are junk, but I doubt that's the reason for the standalone player reading problem. I've burned dozens of them with data and with BD-video contents with the same type of Pioneer device and generally they work fine on 4 different standalone players - Sony, Samsung, Philips and Panasonic. (In case you wonder the reason why I use them is that in Eastern Europe, or at least in my part of EU, there is no real choice, even Verbatim branded BD25 discs are actually CMC, there are no DataLifePlus single layer BD-Rs, and ordering them from another country or from another continent will make their price way too high for me.) I would blame DVDfab for the problem with reading disc on standalone player.

  5. Java is necessary to play BD Video menus. That could be why you're not getting a menu on the PC. Doesn't explain the standalone BD player, though. You may want to install the Java runtime package on your PC and see if the menu appears after that in VLC.
  6. I see. When I open the file on the PC, it doesn't load the menu. On the other hand, when I pop the disc into the disc drive in the PC anew, it opens VLC with an error message, stating Java isn't installed. When I click this away, it starts with the movie.
  7. In the US, you can find the DataLife Plus BD-R on Amazon.com. I don't think I've never heard of just DataLife without the Plus. Verbatim has 2 flavors of its CD and DVD: Life Series and DataLife Plus. The Life Series is the CMC junk. DataLife Plus is the quality material. Verbatim does make 50 GB DataLife Plus BD-R DL with inkjet printable surfaces, too. That skipping the menu and going straight to film could be however DVDFab processed the disc. I believe it has the option of just extracting the movie and not the menus. If you play this new BD Video that just goes straight to the movie, is the BDMV folder still on your hard drive somewhere? If so, try playing that from the hard drive on your PC and see if it loads a menu. If it doesn't, then DVDFab probably just made a BD Video with only the movie on it.
  8. Thanks for the information! I'll try to get these Datalife Plus discs in the future. I am having a hard time finding them on the Internet, however. I assume choosing Datalife Plus over Datalife makes a difference? And can it be that these are only available as 50gb discs instead of 25gb? In the meantime, I tried creating a 1080p BluRay file as a folder in DVDFab and then using ImgBurn to burn, and this did play on the standalone! It did skip the Menu and went straight to the film, however... I suppose this is because of the CMC Discs?
  9. I would blame this: Disc ID: CMCMAG-BA5-000 Since the disc plays on your PC drive but not on your standalone player, the BD Movie disc appears to be "fine." So, it's most likely a compatibility issue with those CMC MAG discs and your standalone Blu-Ray player. In simplest terms, your Blu-Ray standalone hardware doesn't "like" those discs. PC drives are more "forgiving" than standalone players. I've seen similar behavior on the Playstation 3. The PS3 doesn't like Memorex's RITEK BD-R's and will often times skip entire Title Sets on playback or playback some Title Sets with skips in audio and video because the laser doesn't like those discs. CMC MAG is shorthand for CMC Magnetics, which makes the worst optical discs out there. I would try another kind of BD-R that isn't CMC. The only brand of reliable BD-R I know of now are Verbatim DataLife Plus inkjet printable BD-R. They are more expensive because of their higher quality and printable surface, which you'll probably never use (I don't.) but the Verbatim branded blue and white BD-R which were high quality for the decade I used them are now no longer reliable.
  10. Hi everyone, I'm running into issues with Blu-rays that I've burned with ImgBurn and created with DVDFab. The issue is that the disc is not recognized on the standalone Sony player, which is plugged into the TV. It does work fine on my PC, though. Here are the steps that led me here: 1. Created the movie and mastered a ProRes 422 .mov file 2. Inserted this file into DVDFab's "UHD Creator" and added my subtitles. Then, I rendered and created an ISO file, which I saved on my PC. These are the settings I used: 3. Opened ImgBurn in Burn mode and set Write Speed to 3x, as someone said this might cause the problem. Checked the verify button. 4. After burn and verify, the disc plays wonderfully on my PC, but not on the standalone. When inserting it there, it goes blank for a second and then returns to the player's menu. This is what ImgBurn says about the disc on the right hand side: PIONEER BD-RW BDR-UD03 1.14 (USB) Current Profile: BD-R Disc Information: Status: Complete State of Last Session: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 6,722,144 Size: 13,766,950,912 bytes Time: 1493:50:44 (MM:SS:FF) MID: CMCMAG-BA5-000 Supported Read Speeds: 6x Current Read Speed: 2.5x - 6x File System Information: Sectors: 6,722,144 Size: 13,766,950,912 bytes Time: 1493:50:44 (MM:SS:FF) TOC Information: Session 1... And I'm taking a 2160p video file and crating a 2160p Blu Ray out of it. Does anybody have any ideas what the issue could be? Is it likely to be a DVDFab creating problem or a ImgBurn burning Problem? Or is it neither and the non-4k-player just can't play a 2160p file? My next step will be to try creating a folder with DVDFab instead of an ISO file. And then I will try creating a 1080p file instead and testing it with my player. Cheers, Leopold

  12. Damn, now I am happy I got some old ones haha. If want really internal drives, going on the second hand market wouldn't be the worse idea. You might have to buy a whole system for the price of a pack of camels (depending on where you live of course, Belgium over here 19 euros for 35 sigs 🤣😅😥),but I imagine when you buy a whole system (running windows xp, with the yellow plastic but with 2 burners inside, why not take the gamble) people just want to throw away that stuff usually. Blask what external drives do you use? I ofcourse bought a cheap chinese one, with the expected results
  13. The internet is becoming more and more of a "dangerous" place for people who aren't that up-to-date with the ever accelerating landscape of security. Even someone who is pretty versed in all that stuff, when you tired or distracted with your friends or whatever: chances are you are going to click the link by the people who are trying to make a quick buck or whatever the intention may be. I know it's pretty off topic, but with AI, the stuff you can buy on the darker side of the web for virtually nothing and not even considering nations states and big companies who just want to snoop a little with budgets that make warfare seem cheap and your antivirus antiquated. Being a little cautious (checking the file checksums, making them back-ups and even going as far as testing stuff on a VM doesn't seem that paranoid anymore. But I guess what the others already told you, will keep you safe enough. As far as the reputation goes for imgburn, never thought about it but it can't be good. For what I understand, this project is awesome and does it's thing well, but one developer who isn't getting fair compensation for it.... It's a miracle it works as well as it does. A work of art is always fueled by love and obsession, but reality, life and it's demands will take it's toll over the years. Interests change, but you can still get it here, just have to stay focused. KEEP ON TRUCKING
  14. They're cheaper, probably, because they're the crap media now. I wouldn't trust any Verbatim BD-R that isn't DataLife Plus anymore. You are, of course, welcome to gamble. And, it may pay off. Or, it may not. I don't gamble because 95% of the time, I lose.
  15. Ok. Thank you for your answer The BD-R from your link are expensive I live in France and I would like to buy on the french Amazon. I have found this product but I am not sure it is the same as yours https://www.amazon.fr/Verbatim-43736-10-pack-Blu-Ray-Optical/dp/B004BSIIKG/ref=pd_ci_mcx_pspc_dp_d_2_t_1?pd_rd_w=fhYas&content-id=amzn1.sym.41d6c71f-c79f-48de-93a0-206dcbe3791f&pf_rd_p=41d6c71f-c79f-48de-93a0-206dcbe3791f&pf_rd_r=1CK3YV0B1EZCZSC9DJK7&pd_rd_wg=gat5X&pd_rd_r=d497429d-c1c2-4409-9121-aeb7de57a994&pd_rd_i=B004BSIIKG&th=1 I have found another product which is less espensive https://www.amazon.fr/Verbatim-43736-10-pack-Blu-Ray-Optical/dp/B004BSIIKG/ref=pd_ci_mcx_pspc_dp_d_2_t_1?pd_rd_w=fhYas&content-id=amzn1.sym.41d6c71f-c79f-48de-93a0-206dcbe3791f&pf_rd_p=41d6c71f-c79f-48de-93a0-206dcbe3791f&pf_rd_r=1CK3YV0B1EZCZSC9DJK7&pd_rd_wg=gat5X&pd_rd_r=d497429d-c1c2-4409-9121-aeb7de57a994&pd_rd_i=B004BSIIKG&th=1
  16. Earlier
  17. Basically, for 30 years, ever since I got a Zip Drive and had external, writable "mass" storage, I've been saving my installer files on external media. You never know when you'll get a newer piece of software that just doesn't work right and you need to regress back to a past version. And, in this day and age where you have to ACTIVELY search for installers as opposed to online downloaders, it's even more important. I've got every single ImgBurn installer ever released going back to 2.5.5.0 in 2011 still archived.
  18. That's basically what I do as I keep a copy of it on my hard drive that I know is good. p.s. here is the MD5 hash of what I have had for years now... "4bf2b8f4b46385bfda4d65e423cfb868" SetupImgBurn_2.5.8.0.exe ; which is '3,101,913 bytes' in size.
  19. If there are no agreements in place, then perhaps you'd get away with placing their mirror closer to the bottom? There's still their logo very well visible on the site, perhaps that'd be enough? I admit I'm still operating on the assumption that Digital Digest's download manager can trigger AV detections, I'd love to confirm it myself but apparently my main browser just refuses to download the file (a new tab opens and closes with no files being downloaded), while my other browsers and my phone download 7-Zip for some weird reason... Perhaps yet another reason to reconsider their position. But assuming it is being detected, then it's harmful to the reputation of ImgBurn - who knows how many people came to the same conclusion as the OP did but didn't share it on the forums. Yeah, I know this is probably how it's been for literally decades, and the scale of the issue is probably small... But I do believe it's worth reconsidering.
  20. I sometimes find it handy to store the setup .exes locally so I don't always have to go online to the site and download it. Knowing that I use Imgburn across many devices, I stored it's setup.exe file in a USB flash drive and then use that to transfer it when I need it along with other software files. (If I am reinstalling windows, I copy all software setup files using the flash drive and reinstall.) Yes, I know it may not be as convenient but it establishes peace of mind and maybe a bit more security especially with all the kinds of things out there on the web. Just offering a suggestion.
  21. I will preface this by saying I've never burned any BD-R DL of any variety before, but if I were to try any, it would be these: https://www.amazon.com/Verbatim-DataLifePlus-White-Inkjet-Printable/dp/B004HA8IQC/ref=sr_1_1?ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.9fe8cbfa-bf43-43d1-a707-3f4e65a4b666 They're the Verbatim DataLife Plus variety. As of this post, the DataLife Plus BD-R from Verbatim are the only reliable ones they make anymore. While they're inkjet and I've never printed anything to an inkjet printable disc before, I pay the extra for the feature I'll never use just to get the quality media. The DataLife Plus media were the reliable Mitsubishi CD-R, DVD-/+R, and DVD+R DL they make for Verbatim and the brands of those types of recordable discs I trust. I've been using the DataLife Plus BD-R from Verbatim for a few months now without issue. The previous branded Verbatim BD-R I were using appear to have changed manufacturing processes and are no longer reliable. Out of the last 3 sets of 50 I've had, the first one would complete writes and Verifies, but were unreadable after less than 5 days. The 2nd batch had no issues. The 3rd batch would only complete 1 write and Verify; the rest never completed Writes.
  22. Hello, Thank you for your answers I have three burners : - Pioneer BDR-TD05 - MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ272 - TSSTCorp BDDVDW SN-506BB Which printable BD-R DL can you advise me?
  23. That's why I posted that last response. I didn't want to imply things as gospel that may not be fact.
  24. No agreements signed. Digital Digest hosts this website + forum on one of its servers, that's why it takes the top spot... always has done.
  25. Actually, I probably shouldn't have put "words in LUK's mouth." What I said about the signed agreements should have been stated as what I THINK happened, not stated necessarily as concrete fact.
  26. When downloading software online, always read carefully before you click. As mentioned, this site is wrapping the ImgBurn installer by using their own "download manager" to shove advertisements in your face as the the software you actually want is being downloaded in the background (this is what your antivirus software may have detected - "adware", while not as dangerous as actual malware/viruses, is still unwanted software). There is a small text on the page that includes a direct download link, always seek something like this. This is unfortunately somewhat of a common practice. I think sites that do something like this should be lower on the download page's mirror list, while the ones that don't (like MajorGeeks, TechSpot or the self-hosted file) should be first.
  27. Yes, all mirrors were given clean files to host. Some may choose to modify / wrap the file, but that’s down to them and nothing to do with me. Adverts may also play a part here if you aren’t careful where you click.
  28. Only trust the ImgBurn.com repository itself. Years after giving the installer to other sites, those repositories added their own stuff to them. Unfortunately, in most cases, the agreements the program author signed required the installer be offered on those sites. So, LUK probably couldn't get them taken down even if he wanted to.
  29. IMGBURN you almost burned down my computer, i tried installing from this link provided on your website and its just completely loaded with viruses FUCK YOU https://www.digital-digest.com/software/download.php?sid=470&ssid=0&did=1
  30. Those are remarkably similar to the BD-RE DL's I had that were unusable after a year. Mine were printable, too, and were also from Japan. They were in a cake stack with a similar paper disc on top as shown in your image. The odd thing is they claim to be Mitsubishi MKM media, which is generally the highest quality CD and DVD media you can get.
