@goweb It's a good idea to report it to them and send them the file so they can fix their program. Regards

iso Burning: no eject before verify? how to Finalize?
blutach replied to AEN's topic in ImgBurn Support
On 1, it is much better to cycle the tray. This allows the media to reinitialise and ensures it can be read. Regards -

I wasn't meaning to be mean (that just comes naturally ), it was more the comparison between physical deficiencies that I wanted to draw out. Regards -

Nope. You're blind Regards -
When in doubt, try resetting all settings to default. This can eliminate a lot of gremlins. Regards

Way to go LUK! Regards

Search the forum to find out why it's best to have the full format done - this has been discussed many times before. However, if you are happy to have a disk not correctly formatted, then Tools - Settings - Write - Prefer Properly Formatted +RW (UNTICK). OK and you're done. Regards

I'd like to see your log where ImgBurn said it wouldn't fit on a DL but you reckon it would. That would indicate an error somewhere. Regards
-
Something wrong with your other thread? http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5946 Please don't cross post. Regards

Nope - they are poor media. You can see this burn crapped out right after the layer break. This is typical. Save tearing your hair out - go get some Verbs, MIS, 2.4x. Regards

Showing, yet again, how little retailers know or care about their customers. They do care, however, about their profits. Also, shows how little the general customer knows (which is why there are so many "burning error" threads littered about the forums). I buy decent disks online at a trusted supplier. Regards

Cool - FYI, the logs are saved. Check out the Help menu. Regards

Change your media. Ritek DL media is pretty ordinary. Only use Verbatims MKM-001, Made in Singapore. You could also do with a firmware update - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2034 Regards

@FelixCold - we don't have time to "prove" everything we say. Again, you either accept the experience and expertise we have here or you do not. Arguing won't make things different. You've been given good advice. Either take it or leave it. Regards

Woo hoo. Have a great day mate. Regards

You have really poor media. Change to Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and your problems will be solved. ImgBurn will automatically finalise a burn. You should post your logs (see pink bit at top). EDIT: mmalves was faster Regards

Ah, but some players may ignore the rules about layer breaks. ImgBurn respects the DVD and ECMA specs and will not allow you to burn something out of spec (well, it'll warn you anyway - the rest is your risk). Believe me, DVD Shrink is no maker of perfect DL ISOs - this is not a "general belief"; it is an absolute fact. And it is not a program to be used "primarily to make ISOs". There's lots of good programs out there to do that, including ..... ImgBurn!!! If you need shrinking, so be it. Output to files, not ISO and use ImgBurn's build mode. There is simply no need for an ISO, which after all, is just a container. Regards
-
@FelixCold Either you've come for advice or come for a fight. If the former, then you've been given good advice, based on lotsa experience (for example, a search will tell you why you need to burn slow on USB and no amount of argument will change it). If you've come for a fight, then I can't be buggered with you. Regards

Welcome to ImgBurn Forum. From the menu bar: Tools --> Drive --> Close --> Session Regards

I just wanna know what in God's name you'd need DVD Shrink for if you're not shrinking anything? If you wanna make an ISO, ImgBurn does the job properly. As donta, Shamus and corny say, DVD Shrink does not make a DL ISO properly - it does not honour the rules in respect of placement of the layer break (and this is why ImgBurn complains). So, despite what you may think about DVD Shrink's ISO creation abilities, you are mistaken. Best method IMHO, is, as donta says, to use ImgBurn's build mode and don't worry about ISOs. Regards

All those old filter drivers might be getting in the way. Really, you only need Redbook and imapi (and the Device of course). Backup your registry and try to remove all those except redbook and the drive. Reboot and try again. If still no good, restore your registry. Regards

You have a condumdrum. 1. You are writing wayyyyyyyyyyyy too fast across a USB port - or trying to. The speed needs to be 2x. 2. The MCC 004s are high speed media (note the lowest burning speed for your drive is 6x) This - more than likely - is resulting in hit and miss burns. So, find some disks wth lower write speeds and lower your speed. If you can, move the burner to an internal IDE channel. You might as well update your firmware, too - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2026 Regards
