Sounds like they really spoilt it for you mate - you see similar on e-bay (well you wouldn't I suspect !!! ) but the Mrs likes to look for bargains on there. Sometimes there is an item on for a week and you get 2x newbs bidding it up for the first two days in competition so that the item is almost exactly retail price Nice if you're the seller but crap for buyers...

Please post a copy of the ImgBurn log (bottom window of the Gui) and also the information that appears in the top right window when the program is open and you have a disc in the drive. Also please confirm exactly what you are trying to do, e.g. burn an .iso etc Without the above as a minimum we can only guess what's wrong

Can you not alter the AVG settings ? I use ZoneAlarm Pro and very occasionally it used to prevent progs from working correctly (not ImgBurn), in settings you can allow these programs access etc. Maybe AVG does the same ?

Those sig things were first seen here in the old DVDD forum days and quite a few of us had them - I had one for a while myself Thing is some people got nervous about them and didn't understand that only you at your PC can see your information. After a few panicky posts most if not all of us removed them

Thanks guys..... I might take you up on that donta, whats a smartclip ? I read at lunch that the phone needs to be re-flashed but I can't find out how to do it. It won't take a software update anymore as it just displays the error message above about corrupt file.

Mmm This morning I tried to update the software on my V3 razr using the Motorola support program. Everything seemed to be going ok until all of a sudden the USB connection was lost. It appears that the remaining 50% of my battery was used up by the update process running. Problem is now that I cannot re-run the software update as the program does not recognise the phone when connected via USB. When I plug the phone into the charger I see the following message Nothing else seems to work except the power on/off button. I can't even tell now if the phone is being charged. I called the UK support line number at Motorola and the lady spoke to their data team who believe I need to send it back to them to reflash the phone. The phone is just outside the 1year warranty so this is going to cost me - the lady helpfully suggested that its probably easier to buy a new one !!! Aaaargh !! So as I have nothing to lose can anyone suggest either a way to reset the phone so that I can try the update again or another option to return the phone to its working state again ?? Please bear in mind that I am already regretting trying to update the software Many thanks P.S I have tried a Google search at lunch and found lots of stuff on hacking/modding but nothing to fix a failed software upgrade.

It's just my opinion but 8x media (especially Taiyo Yudens) should burn fine at 8x I don't restrict mine and the results are excellent.

I recently ordered the 16x DVD-R Verbs as I was sold on them whilst doing the disc tests a while back.....

Stick to defaults unless told otherwise !
