  1. Maybe that Samsung like the 203b likes 4x instead of 2.4x also your destination media sectors is not being reported correctly should be 4,173,824 Which sata controller have you got it connected to ? and how is sata configured in bios and in windows IE which driver Sorry but nothing to do with software and more to do with end user / end users hardware/ drivers Maybe also let ImgBurn set booktype auto (check to make sure you have not unticked it in write settings) It will attempt to dvd-rom even though you did not click on book icon.
  2. You can paint your front door any colour you like, as long as it's red. Yeah do as advised and make sure to get verbatim (Singapore) try and avoid made in India ones if you can for the time being.
  3. I get that on various comps once in a while I just figured the board software had been updated and simply log back in
  4. hmm 750 gig
  5. Your too polite volvo I would have just told them to F.O
  6. Check which IDE port you have writer on and update the drivers if jmicron. If your using nvidia drivers take them out and use standard MS ones. change the Ide cable and make sure its an 80 wire ide cable and maybe make the samsung master, maybe even try it as a slave.
  7. you should also take extra care and look at Fujitsu-Siemens site for updates to drive.
  8. Strange. You might find you get the error again and was a fluke when it worked. You still neglected to set AUTO speed to 8x or just select 8x from drop down. Stuck at lead in is not normal behavior unless your writer is broke or media is suspect or the write strategy for the media code is dodgy you should really have tested with a lower write speed.
  9. Is he buying us stuff. Ok then I will have 2 hitachi 1TB's thanks
  10. Unless I am reading it wrong 2.40 which is what your drives firmware is would appear to be older than 2.24 available at rpc1.org and stock 2.40 cannot set booktype to dvd-rom which you should need to be able to burn successful backups. search google on liggy and dee for an alternative firmware for your drive
  11. yeah I remember now you mention it. Go easy on me I am a Samsung Virgin I still suspect maybe the enclosure or the usb port. Apart from the obvious Max write speed setting (which I missed)
  12. I assumed all sammys would say unknown(the reason you added feature to ImgBurn to Auto) but the way they posted was if they were trying to booktype that way and were able to change it. TS08 was the latest I could find for that drive. make sure usb drive is on b4 starting ImgBurn.
  13. you will have to use that writer then as the liteon will not allow it. Why burn so slow as modern media is best burnt at 8x to rated speed as drives are optimised to do that. However I and many users prefer to burn at 8x as you get the most benefit
  14. Cornholio7 is right 6x will be the lowest the liteon can burn those disc's and you should set the booktype to DVD-ROM from the book icon and liteon tab to increase the chances of playback on your home dvd player
  15. It might be Issues with the USB enclosure and your samsung drive whilst using DVD+R What happens when you use book icon to try and set DVD-ROM does it say Uknown drive failed to report or does it allow you
  16. Media rather than software no 2 disc's are the same.
  17. turn off any dvd when burning or anything else related to reading/ verify make sure you have the verify box ticked and get into habit of verifying after burn as a seemingly successful burn does not exactly mean that without having verified the data written.
  18. Try updating the firmware on your drive to the latest 1.29 If the media is made in India maybe see if you can return them if you just keep getting failure after failure or clean the drive with a CD cleaner.
  19. I can only say that recently there have been a number of users using made in India Verbs with write errors from the off or half way through or failing at verification stage. Using writers that I and many members on here own and burn Singapore Verbatim all day long (I have out of at least 200 only had 1 fail . Only 1 failed to verify after burn. I have never bought Verbatim DL made in India so maybe I am jumping the gun by looking at all the other users who are using it and having problems whilst using the very same make writer I have and the same firmware on their drive that I use. If your happy with the media and you Verify them straight after burn then keep using them.
  20. Hard to say for sure but Verbatim going down hill since moving production to India and you should if you can return them and tell them the truth that they are inconsistent. If your happy enough just use your plextor if it's a recent plextor I am sure they are pioneer drives anyway
  21. check to see if the Verbatims were made in India. If they are RETURN them ASAP. Other than that clean drive with CD cleaner and try using 2.4x only.
  22. extreme 4.2 (yeah old but everybackup works on it and I never use it for online) use my other 360's for online make sure firmware is up to date mine is PS0C http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/SHW-...re/DR16PS0B.rar Will have to look for PS0C as liteon removed it from their site a while ago now *don't know why they removed it [edit] I found PS0C on my computer but people prefer the PS0B If you try to flash to PS0B and it tells you no compatible drive let me know through PM and I will sort you out with the firmware you need to flash.
  23. my liteon 160p6s writes 360 games perfect which my samsung loads no problems with a booktype of DVD-ROM Which media are you using ? I would be changing booktype to dvd-rom on them whatever they are. Can you post a log of a previous burn attempt
