  1. So the Silicon Image is a PCI addon card. You had it in any other mobo and come to conclusion the p35 is limiting or ? Sorry I ain't got one of those boards newest i got is 975x as I still have not decided which new mobo to buy nearly bought p35 then decided to just wait. I got a silicon image card (did not know I had it till i found it in the cupboard, think I bought it for plextor sata drive I had but plex did not work or card did not work apart from Pio mode) Think corny might have p35 not sure
  2. do you mean MD5 as in checksum or MDS
  3. Yeah he is sure. The giveaway is this
  4. Or you had a virus scan scheduled or it was updating via internet or something else was using internet or you have errors on your hard drive. Maybe try removing ide controller even if windows said it was in DMA and let it pick up your storage hardware again. Look to see if there are any updates to IDE drivers / Intel storage / chipset drivers etc.
  5. maybe try and update the drives firmware to http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/s....YS0Z.stock.rar I think codeguys will allow you to flash your emachines 1635s to a proper liteon 1635s. In other words if you download YS0Z from liteons site and tried to update drive it will tell you no drive detected. You assume responsibilty either way as it would void your warranty. I have no idea which firmware your YGS4 is based on but is likely to be OLD.
  6. Hard to say but from the 3rd piccy It says made in Singapore. Why not buy 10 on express delivery use them, if they are OK then buy more.
  7. Dunno if it's just me but is that not what duplicators are for. I prefer to work with images. and build mode can sort of do that already.
  8. Sorry willb What I was drawing attention to was that I told you to set master slave , which you cannot do on SATA as I replied to your post as if you were using and IDE drive. My mistake
  9. yeah check the specs of Icy for compatibility, which is why a lot of he time hd manufacturers set to sata 1 for compatibility
  10. Sometimes windows can report that a drive is operating in Udma 5, 4 or whatever number it reports. Windows lies In order to fix it you have to go to device manager and uninstall the primary and secondary ide then reboot windows and let windows pick up the drivers again for it to correct the stuck dma
  11. one other thing you may want to check is which state Seagate ship their sata 2 hard drives. In SATA 1 state or SATA 2 , set by a little jumper. I cannot remember but I think my 2 Seagate sata 2 drives bought about 8 months ago shipped set to SATA 1
  12. I tried another RITEK-S04-66 @4x and 8X and both failed with Samsung SH-202H only 6x left to try but not going to bother.
