1. How much? Don't know, depends where you are in the world, and what shop you deal with.

Easy as pie (as per chewy's post) Uninstall? You really don't have to, but if you do, again as easy as pie.

It's a good start, the thing is, if you don't, you'll never be able to.

  2. I don't read that section simply because I know what I want ;)

    <queue Spice Girls>

Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want,

So tell me what you want, what you really really want,

I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want,

So tell me what you want, what you really really want,

    I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really

    really really wanna zigazig ha.

7am. I really should go to bed. =))

Stufin hell, you can't say anything here without it going tits up. =))=))

  3. Ok I never had anyone tell me you have to format dvd's before you Burn them, when I started with Dvd+R's I didn't format them and now I have Dvd+RW's. I automatically assumed that the media you use to burn with, that you use it the way it comes because I didn't no any different and my sister in law burns all the time with DvdXCopy and she doesn't format her disc's so I don't understand this part of it.

I was also told that if I download SP1 that it will change my Usb 1.1 to Usb 2.0, anyone know if that is true or not.

Ok and how hard is it to put a Usb 2.0 card into my Cpu?

I went to EverythingUsb site and have gotten NO help there..... Im about ready to toss it all and say forget it because it seems harder then its worth.

I think you need to do a bit of reading, the +RW media needs formating, this is a once only opperation (full format) than you can overwrite the data without the need of a format, the +R Nd -R media do not need to be formated.

No, SP1 will not change your USB.

Easy as pie, as per chewy's post.

If you're ready to "toss it in" that's your call.

  4. @Angel,

I don't want to keep harping about this, but it is important that newbies don't walk away with incorrect info.

I'm not sure what you're trying to show me on your screen dumps, but if it's the size on top of the shrink window 4,464MB you referring to, then that IS 4.35GB, well 4.359GB to be exact. :)

The total size of a 4.7 blank media is only 4.38GB.

That is the default setting in shrink and it hasnt failed me or any of the other many many people that use it.Just because MY title HERE says newbie doesnt mean I dont know what I am talking about. I am far from a Newbie my dear.

I know very well you're not a newbie, my comment wasn't aimed at you, I also did not say you didn't know what you're talking about, but it's as simple as this, YOU CAN NOT FIT 4.46GB ON A 4.38GB BLANK MEDIA.

So get it right my dear.

  5. Ok, I went and bought some new Media....I bought Maxell Dvd+RW 4.7 this time.

Ok the Semaphore Timeout thingy, I saw someplace about Adaptec, DO I need to downoad that and if so what is it for etc??

I searched Google and found lots of info but have no idea which info is the most accurate. I sure wish I could get this problem solved.

    By the way Nice humor

What is the MID of the new media? (I'm betting they are still CMC MAG's) If so, you wasted your money.

Can we have a log from the failed burn with the new media?

Did take up corny's suggestion and lower your burn speed to 4x?

    Is your USB connection USB2?

What make is the external inclosure of your optical drive?

Have you checked for firmware updates for your inclosure?

That will do for now. Please answer as many as you can from the list above.

  7. @Farmer, for fcuk sake man! I spelt it out for you as far as I can go without getting myself or the forum in the shit. :'(

Maybe that's FARMER's intentions! With all the advice that's been given, it seems odd that FARMER keeps trying to get more information, when no more is required (or can be given).

I honestly don't believe that was farmers intentions, but he really needs to read the posts and not ramble on about irrelevant crap.

  8. How large is the file? If it will fit with No compression then you dont need to compress it if the file size is larger then 4.46 gigs then you will need to use Automatic compresssion.

Not to piddle on your parade angel, but you'd have some trouble with this size file. (It won't fit) :)

I personaly would not go beyond 4.35GB and that's with good media.

  9. Just follow the advice offered by Kenadjian to create an ISO from a disc that you have by using DVDShrink.

Thank you defenestration, I think you're the only one that read the post.lol :'(

PLEASE!! read the posts, they are not there just to fill in time. :/

The CMC's are just an added bonus.

  11. Ok, ImgBurn will happily burn anything, providing you present it with the correct format file, this format is usualy called an ISO file,

Now, there are a lot of apps that will produce this kind of file, including the ones you have mentioned, but for obvious reasons we can't help you with them.

It is illegal in a lot of countries to copy DVD's full stop, regardless of wether they are yours or not, therefore we need to obide with those rules.

When you get your apps to produce an ISO file, then you find you're having trouble burning it with ImgBurn, we will certainly help you fix that bit. ;)

  12. No we can't, the step by step bit, but we can help you burn images, whatever they may be, so your best bet is to tell where you are having the problem, or what is it you don't understand, and as long the answer doesn't or won't break any laws we will help you.

Sorry, but that's the best we can do.
