Just because you are using Memorex and your friend gave you a Memorex disc does not mean that they are the same. Your memorex is labeled as Disc ID: RITEKF1. What does the disc that your friend gave you say?

It would appear that this old BenQ does not properly recognize this 16x media.

You can try a slower burn speed but it's most likely the crappy media you're using.
