  1. Do what? Burning avi's?

Avi's are burned to disc in build mode. Best to find a guide to walk you through it.

We have one in the guides section, but as far as I can see, it doesn't deal with burning avi's specifically - something for the future perhaps?

It might be worth burning to +RW while you're working out how to do it.

Also you will need a dvd player, if you're not playing back on a pc, which supports avi playback. A lot of new ones do.

  2. Why convert anything?

A recent boss post suggested watching Avi's off pen drive and archiving to disc. So I bought a cheap play anything dvd player with usb port and did that. You can get six avi's to a dvd disc.

Then the boss struck again by suggesting the WD media player which I bought and is freaking awesome! Well done boss! 2 4 2.

To answer your question everybody says ConvertX is best but you gotta pay for it.

  3. Happy Birthday mate and best wishes

as you get older you might have to give something up - personally I'd knock the rock & roll on the head...

hope you have a good day tomorrow and this bloody rain stops before we're all building arks - and we get to see you more on the forum...

    Regards...

  4. but did you pay for the 5 minute argument or the half hour one ?
    that rang a bell

A: Oh, I'm sorry, just one moment. Is this a five minute argument or the full half hour?

M: Oh, just the five minutes.

A: Ah, thank you. Anyway, I did.

M: You most certainly did not.

A: Look, let's get this thing clear; I quite definitely told you.

    M: No you did not.

    A: Yes I did.

    M: No you didn't.

    A: Yes I did.

    M: No you didn't.

    A: Yes I did.

    M: No you didn't.

    A: Yes I did.

    M: You didn't.

    A: Did.

M: Oh look, this isn't an argument.

    A: Yes it is.

    M: No it isn't. It's just contradiction.

    A: No it isn't.

    M: It is!

    A: It is not.

M: Look, you just contradicted me.

    A: I did not.

    M: Oh you did!!

    A: No, no, no.

    M: You did just then.

    A: Nonsense!

    M: Oh, this is futile!

    A: No it isn't.

M: I came here for a good argument.

A: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.

M: An argument isn't just contradiction.

    A: It can be.

M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.

    A: No it isn't.

M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.

A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.

M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'

    A: Yes it is!

    M: No it isn't!

    A: Yes it is!

M: Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes.

    (short pause)

    A: No it isn't.

    M: It is.

    A: Not at all.

    M: Now look.

    A: (Rings bell) Good Morning.

    M: What?

    A: That's it. Good morning.

M: I was just getting interested.

A: Sorry, the five minutes is up.

M: That was never five minutes!

    A: I'm afraid it was.

    M: It wasn't.

    Pause

A: I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to argue anymore.

Very good donta, from MP, of course.

Also, for my money after the boss, mmalves, blutach & donta are the best there is...

  5. ...could be we do have an unknown spy on the forum after this message was intercepted and decrypted just before the lads had their collars felt, their server put in a Swedish museum and they had to pay a fine of 2.3 million tubs of krona margarine. Message reads...

...Control to Agent 86...find out all you can about the smeggers...

    FU

So how does that work DB? You can pick the letters for your plate? Is it just for that state?

Over here - UK - you get a plate given you when the vehicle is licensed and its luck of the draw as to what you get - or it used to be. I think now they sell off the good ones and a plate like ILVTOFU would fetch serious money.

Selling number plates is big business. LUK 33S for instance, the nearest I could get to LUK 1, would cost

  6. Personally I liked it - but not on the gray background tho...

Dunno whats changed but on the last version the buffers were emptying during burns and waiting for hard drive to reach threshold levels messages, but since the latest version no probs at all. Hurray!

  7. I like the existing version as well better than the posted ones which look like eyeballs to me.

But don't get put off eSkRo...

How about changing the gray background, or changing it for every new version?

  8. Yup, that's what I'm trying to say. I thought it was after the first change, but it could be after clicking minimise while in ISO9660 + UDF.

Anyhow its not doing it now, so either I'm mistaken or its intermittent.

Also, when I delete an avi from the list, the same pop up asks me if I want the file system changing. On a file being deleted?

  9. Nope, no options at all.

Also when the file system is changed via the drop down menu in Options, it doesn't seem to change after the first time.

So if its changed from ISO9660 + UDF to ISO9660 + Joliet it changes but after that it doesn't seem to. Changing back to ISO9660 + UDF allowed avi selection without losing minimise, but the window asking for a change of file system to be confirmed didn't come up. So it looks like it doesn't change after the drop downs changed.

    I'm on XP sp3 btw.

  10. Right clicking on the taskbar brings up no options though it does bring the program on top (like left clicking).

    File System: ISO9660 + UDF

    UDF revision: 1.02

    Enabled:

    Preserve Full Pathways

    Recurse Subdirectories

    Include Hidden Files

    Include System Files

    Disabled:

    Include Archive Files Only

    Clear Archive Attribute

    ...should be the defaults

    Log window does minimise.

You welcome to VNC my comp if it helps...
