  1. Files are listed alphabetically in the file system, and the option you mentioned controls the order the files are phisically placed on the burned disc. Also your player may be sorting the files by MP3 tag or similar.

Try burning a disc (use a rewriteable if you have one handy) with the files named as:

    001-name.mp3

    002-name.mp3

    00x-name.mp3

(in the order you want them)

You might want to use the Advanced Build mode for that.

  2. ImgBurn's default settings work fine for most people. In the rare cases settings have to be changed, ImgBurn will ask you about them and also explain why (e.g. BD-Video discs use UDF 2.50+ instead of UDF 1.02)

Notice the guide you quoted above tells you to change Joliet settings when in fact you're not even including Joliet as a filesystem (it tells you to use ISO9660 + UDF only). Also notice that UDF 1.02 is far more compatible than UDF 1.50, so use the default UDF 1.02 revision if you don't have a specific reason to use a higher revision.

  3. Try with another USB 2.0 certified cable. Try plugging on other USB sockets. You could also try looking for the latest chipset drivers for your system (this website might help).

Also, when you plug the burner, notice if Windows doesn't say something like "this device can operate at faster speeds": if it says this then the device is operating at USB 1.x speed, which is why it doesn't go above 0.7x burn speed.

You should also enable Automatic Updates to update to the latest service pack for your Windows edition.

  4. I 16:37:06 Destination Device: [2:0:0] HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH10LS30 1.01 (E:) (ATA)

    I 16:37:06 Destination Media Type: BD-R (Disc ID: VERBAT-IMf-000) (Speeds: 2x; 4x; 6x; 8x)

Try burning at 4x, and if that doesn't work then you could try 6x or 8x.
