    Create BR image

Hello, I have a software here need to test. One of the functions requires a Blu-Ray image...and i dont own a blu-ray drive. Is there any way i can convert a pre-exisitng dvd/dvd-iso/movie file to a BR image? Or does anyone know of a really small BR image i could download? thanks,
  2. I have many .mts files that I have saved onto my PC hard disk from a Canon HFS100 HD video camera. I would like to create a BLU-RAY video disk (not a Blu-Ray data disk) from these files. How do I do this using imgburn? I assume that I must use the function to create an image from files, but I am not sure of what settings should be used. My PC has a blu-ray burner and I have blank blu-ray disks. Thanks.
  3. Hello Just loaned to a friend a rare Live DVD and ooops, received it back scratched and poorly readable. When backing up my valuable DVD's - how could I get a log of read - creating ISO process - including DVD properties (obtained from all around the world..), enabled IB switches and etc. Which would help me to troubleshoot later problems, when I once find that something is wrong with my copy. For making copy I suggest that: 1. read mode with ISO output suites best 2. followed by write. By default ImgBurn log file content is just a burning info and I couldn't find any log option settings to log DVD properties, DVD read and ISO creating. Thanks!
  4. Hello, what is a DVD File, which can be created by selecting in the Menu: "Tools" -> "Create DVD File..." This generates me a file with the extension .dvd, but what is the sense of this file? It contains just the filename? Is this kind of file (I mean the *.dvd file) an "official" standard like the cue sheets for CDs? btw: Are theese Cue sheets only valid for CDs? If I create a cue sheet for a dvd I got the warning/error see: http://www.failure.bravehost.com/imgburn/files/ Thomas

  6. How do I create an audio CD (.cda files) from mpegs (.mp3) files on my computer? I can see how to create a CD with .mp3 files on it, but I want one I can play in a standard CD player. Thanks for any help.
  7. I'm running ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 and I can't get it to save Title and Performer as CD Text at the Disk level. I enter the information and everything looks good until I save the CUE file and/or burn an audio CD. If I browse to the CUE file I just created and open it... the disk CD Text information I just entered is gone. If I burn a CD none of the CD Text information is displayed in Windows Media Player. I'm just getting started with ImgBurn and I thought this feature was working at one time... but it's not now. I've reset defaults. I've reinstalled the program. I must be missing something simple and I hate to bother everyone... but I've fought this for hours. Help, please?
  8. OIC, these are errors that occur when you try to run/boot the Linux disc. Not errors returned by ImgBurn when writing/burning ISO's. Unfortunately, creating a bootable disc from files is not an exact science. In fact, I never got it to work ever before. And you're using Linux. I know there's a How To in that section on creating a Windows bootable disc. But, as far as Linux goes, I've never used it, so I can't say anything about its boot discs. Those kinds of error messages do sound like, though, things that would be generated by an incorrectly made boot disc. Question: do you just want to make a copy of an existing Linux disc? Or are you making your own from various files you have lying around? If you have an existing disc, don't bother using Build mode. Use Read mode to create an ISO of the existing Linux disc and then Write that ISO to a new disc.
  9. Wait, what are you doing? It sounds like you're trying to create or burn an ISO but you say it happens during the install phase. So, that would be before you even could create an ISO or burn it because you're trying to install ImgBurn. Have you been able to actually install the ImgBurn software and get this error message trying to install the software? Or have you been able to install the ImgBurn software and this error message occurs when you try to create an ISO? Or trying to burn it?
  10. I have created an AVCHD iso file that, because of its size (7.5 GB), I need to burn a dual layer DVD. I have been reading various articles that refer to BDMV and Certificate folders which I don't know anything about. I've also read that in order to burn a dual layer in ImgBurn, that I need to use a VIDEO_TS file. I have not found information as to how to burn this AVCHD iso file onto a dual layer disc. I tried just burning this file through ImgBurn onto a dual layer DVD but that did not work. It does not play, either on DVD player or computer. So apparently I need more steps to successfully create. I'm in need of some guidance here if someone could kindly assist me. Thank you!
  11. If you can't make it output a VIDEO_TS folder (only an ISO), mount the ISO in a virtual drive and point ImgBurn's Build mode at the drive letter of that drive. You can then burn a disc (or create a new ISO) from the contents of it.
  12. Thanks for the reply. My output from ProShow Producer is an ISO file that I then burn with ImgBurn. I have done this for many years with no problem until now - with the dual layer disc. There is no way to create a VIDEO_TS folder that I know of. It would appear that I am at a dead end trying to do this through ImgBurn - and perhaps other software as well. Thanks so much for trying to help.
  13. Hello, I would like to create just one single iso image than can be larger than 4.7 GB - no splitting necesary. Is it possible? The reasoning is I want to backup my DL DVDs on an external HDD and do not want to use DVD Shrink to create a smaller footprint. Any advice appreciated. Thank you, Paul
  14. You keep mentioning trying to burn a file to create a DVD Video disc. That may be your problem. In order to get a DVD that plays on a DVD player, you have to have a VIDEO_TS folder. Is this ProShow Producer producing a VIDEO_TS folder, a file, or an ISO on its own you're trying to burn with ImgBurn? If you have a VIDEO_TS folder, the simplest way to do it is to use Build mode and add the VIDEO_TS folder to the job. ImgBurn will make all the necessary changes for DVD Video itself. Another thing that might help is post a log of one of these DVD Video disc images you burned that aren't playing on a DVD player. I have an idea that you may have a disc that works but the media manufacturer may be the reason it doesn't play in a DVD player. Under Help, choose ImgBurn Logs, open the log file, and copy and paste the necessary part of the log. Also, do you have PC software that can play DVD's? If so, try putting one of these discs that doesn't play in a DVD player into a PC drive and see if it plays on the software player.
  15. Thanks. I am trying to burn a DVD video disc. I created the ISO file as output from ProShow Producer which I’ve used for 15 years - just not a video this large. I’ve always created an ISO file and used ImgBurn for the DVD. I’m a bit clueless as far as creating a VIDEO_TS file. I’m not trying to create a Blu-Ray as my clients don’t have Blu-Ray players. The only reason I’m using dual layer is because of the size of the file. I’m not seeing much on being able to do this. Maybe it’s not technologically feasible? Sure hope I can find a way of doing this. Thanks for your response. If you have any further suggestions, I’d surely appreciate them.
  16. Since you say it's AVCHD, I'm guessing you're trying to make a Blu-Ray Video Disc. In that case, you'd need BDMV and Certificate folders in the root directory of your image. If you're creating a DVD Video Disc, you'll need a VIDEO_TS folder. The reason it's not playing could be a wide variety of causes. The BDMV/VIDEO_TS may not be compliant and thus doesn't play. That would be on whatever software you used to create the BDMV folder contents. I don't know if BDMV burned to a DVD+R DL will even work. I know the other way around, VIDEO_TS to BD-R, doesn't; I tested that myself. You may need a BD-R to get this to play, but I THOUGHT if your BDMV fit on a DVD+R DL, you COULD burn it to a DVD+R DL and get it to play on a BR player.
  17. I copy all the folders from a iso 9660 I use the original linux disk to check everything works. I create image file from folders and make the iso I have included all the files and folders and create the iso I make a DVD again with imageburn from the iso and it has the option of running as live, live safe mode or installing. I have tried live and live safe mode it runs as the original disk does until it stops after about three minutes of the usual whirling cursor at initramfs With live safe mode I get initramfs then says cannot find Live system Going to try installing directly it still whirls but stops at initramfs Need ideas what can be happening
  18. Hi I am Raghu Ram I am new to this forum. Could anybody please tell me How to create an Appendable disc using ImageBurn 2.4.4.0 ?? Waiting for Reply.... Thanx in advance
  19. I downloaded from Microsft the software to install Windows Server 2003, 64-bit. It is an .exe file. I ran it, it unzipped to a directory structure. I didn't see any instructions on creating a bootable CD from the image that I saw, for 64-bit Windows Server. I tried the Vista/Windows 7 instructions and I tried the XP instrctions, both failed. It is looking for NTLDR on boot, and I don't see that file. I have been trying to search on various combinations of the words "make bootable windows server 2003 64-bit" in the search box and nothign relevant has been returned. I have really tried using the guides and other online help. If I am just missing somethgin, can you point me at it? Many thanks.
  20. Well I search on the forum to find an answer but no luck that will tell me how to create a bootable ISO file using imageburn 2.5.0. Also what setting in the imageburn do i need to change to be able to create a bootable disc. Im trying to create a bootable disk for windows xp, vista, and 7, they are all in ISO files, I've use nero burrning rom to do it but its complicated to use the software, so Im back to using imageburn. Really need help in configuring imageburn to burn me boot disk.
  21. I choose Create image file from files/folders to make an image from my dvd-files. Then this is shown. Which is the best choice here?
  22. Hello, I am having a problem I have not run into before on my newly built computer. I cannot seem to get over 2.0x average read speed while creating and image from my disc. All my discs are unencrypted home video type discs and I have not had the problem on my old computer so I am guess it is my setup somehow. My new computer is actually quite fast with a SATA HDD and SATA DVD-RW which is my first SATA computer. I checked DMA and the HDD is DMA6 and DVD drive is DMA5 so I do not believe that is the problem. Writing speed is normal at whatever speed I set it so it is just reading / creating image. This is also my first computer runing Win7 x64 so wondering if that has something to do with it although the program runs great other that the slow image create. I tried a couple of different things and setting the Read to Max then 8X but it is always the same result of about 2.0x. I am sure I am doing something wrong but cannot seem to figure it out. Any help appreciated.
