  1. Ih people, I'm new here, I just dumped nero (500 MB only burning rom??!) and got in to imageburn, but..First issue; Atempting to create a mixed cd (audio+data), nothing satisfactory till now.. Whell, I went into write mode and created a cue, added the audio files to one session, and tried to add the other files (mpg and pdf) to a second session but imageburn wont reconize anything else than images and audio files, so I coldnt add my files. I tried to create an ISO image with the files and add them to second session in ISO format, but it ended in an enhaced reconized by windows (audio and "+") cd, but unable to get to the files, only the audio was available.. How do we do this? Is it possible with Imageburn? Thanks!
  2. There is one reason to buy DVD+R over DVD-R even if it does set the book type to DVD-ROM. DVD+R is SLIGHTLY larger. So, you can create a DVD that is nearly full but it will only fit to a DVD+R and not a DVD-R. That's why I switched from DVD-R to DVD+R. I may have to switch back to DVD-R to get the WH16NS60 to play right IF it doesn't choke on the MCC DVD-R like it does on the MCC DVD+R.
  3. Hi. Can you create a .bin .cue file from a cd that's in your burner w/out having to read it and create the bin file 1st? In other words can you select the files from the cd in the burner and put them in the create .cue window so ImgBurn can create the file? Or do they have to be already ripped to your hd in a folder w/a file name? Thnx.
  4. That makes sense. It IS a proprietary format, owned by the DCA according to Wikipedia. It's a format for sending audio discs to replicators because it contains additional information such as CD text, exact gap size, cross fades, etc, and maybe more importantly, there can not be errors introduced by any ripping process because there's error correction in the DDP file itself which doesn't exist in Redbook audio. On the DVD side, where it's less common, it also contains the information that tells the writer where to change layers on DL DVDs too which is handy when you need to control such things. You are probably. It probably would require a license. I don't know how their license works, if there are levels (such as create, write, play) or if it's a flat fee. If there's a cost involved I understand why it wouldn't be supported in imgburn, especially since many users wouldn't have need. Thank you for the reply. Peace.
  5. Hi, I have a Bootable CD image created by using Ghost Solution Suite BootDisk wizard. which creates an ISO image using MS DOS files. I wanted to add the first part of a ghost image to the boot image, but this is not possible within Ghost as it creates an image DOS image to large. If you burn or mount the ISO the only file on the disk is a BOOTOS.IMG file. If I try to use ImgBurn to extract the Boot Image form a CD created from the image I get the response "sorry, the extract of HDD emulation boot images is not supported". Is this a correct way to create a bootable CD within ImgBurn? How can a extract a bootable image from a CD if ImgBurn does not support this? I can however copy this file and point ImgBurn to this as a boot image and produce another bootable CD with no issue. I can even add the GHO file and create a new ISO. However, I can't see the GHO file within DOS when I boot from the CD. If I launch ghost I can see the CD drive although there is no drive letter assigned to it. Is there any other way to recreate the ISO obtained from Ghost but add in the relevant GHO file required? Chris
  6. ImgBurn can create images from virtual drives. There are supposedly virtual burners that work, but the only I was able to try, I forget which one, because it was free failed miserably to write an image file to the virtual burner. Failed right away, within like the first attempted sector. What exactly do you want ImgBurn to do with a virtual disc drive?
  7. i've looked everywhere and I can't find the answers to 1) how to begin with an existing iso image file and create a new iso after adding other folders and/or files to the new image? 2) how to begin with an iso image file and convert/save it to a hard drive as "regular" folders/files instead of an iso (the reverse of creating an iso from folders/files on the hard drive, which is a standard choice in the ez picker mode)?
  8. Particularly if you used some kind of conversion software to create the source you burned.
  9. I have a decrypted blu-ray transport stream that I would like to burn into a blu-ray compatible disc. What program do I use to create a blu-ray compatible file system? Thanks, Daniel
  10. Hi there In the past I bought a wrestling DVD. Second hand. The disk was scratched to death and the plastic ring in the middle was almost cracked. I decided to ask a friend to make an ISO image for me. I am not sure what software he used, but I kept this image in my HDD. Yesterday, the plastic described above broke. So, I decided to use the ISO and burn the disk. The ISO is 6.80GB and I was about to use a DL disk (TDK identified as Ricoh). Initially, I was surprised that I got a message about VOBU/ECC. I searched the forum and I extracted the VIDEO_TS folder in order to use the 'Files/Folder to Disc' option in ImgBurn. I was then presented with the 'Create Layer Break Position' screen. I looked again in the forum and found what to do. I had a gold star. I used this option. Checked the disk in both computer and desktop DVD player. It plays in both with a minor jump (1-2 secs). I thought 'Great!!!'. However, I decided to try something. I tried to create an ISO of this disk that I burned with DVDDecrypter and/or ImgBurn. I tried the first one first. Result? Then I tried using ImgBurn. Again, the same: Needless to say that the disk burned, plays but it cannot be read to create a ISO using both DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn... My question is: Can I do something to create a disk that can be read and create an ISO image without problems? Thanks in advance for your help and for this excellent program...
  11. I'm using the Video Disc Option on Power2Go 12 to create a DVD. Only way to encode .srt is to already have it embedded in the source. Nice and pretty quick too!
  12. After spending most of the last three days reading up on how to create bootable data Cd, I have finally stumbled on IMGburn. And I can roughly follow the instructions, but what I totally lack now is any understanding of what bootable image files to use to make the cd bootable and under which circumstance, what not to use in other circumstance, and if they are inside of IMGburn or located somewhere else. In short I lack any mental handle of why and I hope someone can explain the why methods to the madness so I can get a better mental handle on what I am doing. In terms of my computer, its a standard XP Pro OS, a 2+ghz processor, 1 GB DD2 ram, a DVD RW drive, a cdrw drive, a FDD, and a sata HDD. Initially, the bootable disks will just be standard cd-r disks. ( I have also created a bootable windows floppy ) And I have three rough projects I want to do. 1. Create a bootable cd that boots into memtest86. And since memtest86 loads ahead of the OS, its not OS specific. Which leaves me puzzled on what boot files I must load to run just memtst86. 2. I want to flash the bios on another XP computer. I already have the right bios file itself and the flash utility saved to a directory on C, but I am again puzzled on what boot files to use. 3. Then I want to create some windows cd based repair disks with some needed utilities I can use if I needed to repair a computer that will not boot normally into windows. And again I am puzzled on what boot files I must add. Ideally for a bootable cd dummy like me, there would be a direct make a bootable data disk option that would walk me through the steps. And then once the boot files I needed were selected, I could then add in the needed data files, and then just select burn the whole mess, and then get a correctly burned bootable cd. And instead I end up with the data files I selected but the cd is a coaster because it will not boot even though the cd is selected as the first boot device in the bios.
  13. Hi, My son has autism and I have used imgburn many times to create ISO and burn discs for him, to be played on a portable DVD player. The 100s I have already done appear fine, I have tested a few, however I have tried to write an image file to disc today and I get 'UNKNOWN DISC' on the player. I have uninstalled and re-installed to no avail. Any ideas? Johnny
  14. Hello. Great software! I'm looking for a guide to create a DVD Data image, not a video DVD image. Is this possible? Thanks.
  15. I was wondering if it would be possible to create a bootable BD on BD-RE-DL media (or any capacity BD media for that matter) from a bootable-DVD ISO image, simply by using the desired BD media and directing Image Burn to that bootable DVD ISO? The image's size normally requires DVD+/-R-DL media and since I have more BD-RE-DL media at hand I would rather not have to buy a stack of blank DVD+/-R-DL discs for very infrequent use. The only concern I could think of is whether modern UEFI based Windows hardware will be able to read a bootable BD (assuming that's possible to create from Image Burn) since BD would require at least UDF 2.5 or later support by the motherboard firmware, whereas DVD reading would only require UDF 1.02 support. Thanks for any input / advice.
  16. ok thanks - it's weird. I understand what you mean but still can't fathom how it worked and now does not. I don't recall using any other program. I have used Handbrake but not for this purpose. The solution is to switch to freemake - or 'notfree' make as that converts to DVD without a problem. The notfree bit comes into play as you have to upgrade to GOLD package to remove all the adverts/banners whatever. The simple fact is for me now, whatever I have done in the past (or as I claim not done), freemake works for me and imgburn does not. Just a shame with them I need to pay a fee. I could still use imgburn to use current discs that work if a need to burn another copy or replacement, ie create an ISO file from that workable disc, and then try and burn onto a new disc from that. As the original contains the AUDIO_TS and the VIDEO_TS that should work. The reason for all this is my son has autism/learning difficulties and is non verbal, part of his his fun time is his DVD player (or players I have a few!),, however his TV show tastes are stuck in the 80s so to speak, most of the TV shows he likes are not made anymore and a lot are not on DVD, so I started many years ago to copy old VHS tapes and get them onto DVD discs. I have 100s for him, and for all those I have several back ups in case a disc becomes unusable, I also have lots of pre-recorded discs for him for shows that made it onto DVD. I also have MKV/MP4/ISO versions of most of them on a hard drive so I can create new one's....I assumed using imgburn When one no longer works I swap it for a new one, whether that be pre-recorded or one I have done on the pc for him. I suppose if I have a workable disc as I explained above, if I need to make a copy of that it will have all the necessary correct file information (after all it does work), so I can create a new disc with imgburn from that otherwise it's 'notfreemake'.
  17. I am not feeding it MKV/MP4 though, I am converting them first on imgburn to an ISO file. Sure that's the format they were in originally but they have been written to ISO. The latest I tried was an ISO file not an MKV, yet when I wrote it over it still had MKV filename, not the AUDIO/VIDEO TS the good earlier one's had. It is that ISO file I am then trying to burn to a blank disc. Not the MP4/MKV one. I have used Handbrake in some instances, but for this I am merely trying to create a new disc from an existing ISO file. I have close to 200 discs I have done over the years all using imgburn. 1) original TV show/file (whether MP4 or MKV etc), ISO image created using imgburn 2) Disc created from ISO image, write image file to disc using imgburn I am currently just doing step 2 as I have already got all the ISO files prepared. That's it - now I can see though the new discs created do not have the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS names ISO.bmp
  18. What did you use to create the DVD that says it's an unknown disc? I'm guessing it wasn't Freemake. It might have authored an incorrect disc. And I'm still looking at if VIDEO_TS wasn't placed properly in the root directory of the job. Put this failed disc in your PC drive, open Windows/File Explorer and make sure there's a VIDEO_TS folder (Check for correct spelling, too.) in the root directory. Navigate to VIDEO_TS and make sure there's a VIDEO_TS.IFO file there. Also try playing this disc that doesn't play in another DVD player, preferably not a PC drive. Like someone else's DVD player. As for the log, I've never heard of the Disc ID being used before. However, since you've gotten them to work before, that's not the problem. It's an issue, but not a problem. Also, just going by judging here, looks like you downloaded this ISO you're burning? Maybe the ISO was never authored correctly to begin with.
  19. First of all, I use DVD flick (version 1.2.2.1) to create an ISO image. I don't check ''Burn project to disc''. I use DVD+R DL with ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P. It starts and I wait.. it starts encoding and adding all those things i want. Near the end of completion when imgburn tells me it's adding Layer break position...(dvd flick tells me it's creating ISO at the same time) , it restarts my computer and yeah i thought it was done, after I went to imgburn (version 2.4.2.0) and browse for it, but nothing!!! Why? where do i look for ISO images when there done? and how do i even burn? what is a layer break position? please help me
  20. Here is the log data. I would like to thank everyone for help in advance. I 18:57:19 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! 21. How do I auto-click "ignore layer break" or bypass this screen alltogether? I am using the command line to run imgburn. No matter what options I set in the program itself or in the command line, it always shows this screen when I goto make an ISO of a DVD. I don't need layer breaks and I'm trying to automate this to create approx 200 different DVD images - I can't sit there and click "ignore layer break" every time... Any help is appreciated. Thanks! -Justin
  22. I created a back up of one of my gaming dvds by using ImgBurn to create an ISO file from the dvd. I successfully completed the process, but when I try to test the ISO image by selecting the setup.exe file from the ISO, it gives the following error: "error reading setup initialization file." Is there a workaround to this? Any help would be appreciated. The ImgBurn log is uploaded as an attachment. (I deleted my earlier post but it still shows up for some reason). ImgBurn Log.log
  23. One can burn ISO in batch mode, but can one create ISO in batch mode? At the moment I backup my DVD with DVDFab, then convert it into an ISO with same program. Once I have a few ISO, then I batch burn them with ImgBurn. It prob would be easier if I could create multiple ISO in one go.
  24. Hi, I'm putting some of my old tapes onto CD. The tapes I have are 90 minute long, too long for a standard CD. What I am trying to do is create an iso file of the 90 minute audio tape, I can them play it with the videoLAN player to see what it sound like, and see which pieces I no longer need. I've edited the 90 minute tape into a number of .wav files and have then created a .cue file from the .wav files. When I try and write the .iso file, I do get a file, but I can't do any thing with it. Am I trying to do some thing that is completely out of the question?? Here is my log file, and I've not attached the .iso that was created as it is too big, at 1.1Mb. I 00:30:35 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! I 00:30:35 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 00:30:35 Total Physical Memory: 1,048,044 KB - Available: 423,980 KB W 00:30:35 Drive I:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size.
