Cynthia Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, hardgig! You have a virus/malware. Try the AVG fix in this thread. It should work. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=10375

dontasciime Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Norton was asleep. Kick it into touch and find something else like avg or some seem to like avast. I prefer avg though but starting to go off it.
hardgig Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Norton was asleep. Kick it into touch and find something else like avg or some seem to like avast. I prefer avg though but starting to go off it. Thanks for the insight.... I did disable the Norton , downloaded and ran the AVG but without success. The AVG seemed to create more conflict than I had to begin with. Downloaded 'fire- something' or 'Flame- something' scan and still no luck... removed the other 2 little guys and the new problems went away but ImgBurn still being a bad boy.... Will try Memorex drivers next and see what luck I get.... Anything else you can think of would be appreciated... hardgig
Cynthia Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Can't hurt to try another tool. http://www.malwarebytes.org/
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 'gmer' will help get rid of the rootkit part and scan for others too. http://www.gmer.net/ And DrWeb CureIt will do a proper virus scan of your entire system - www.freedrweb.com If you're still having issues with ImgBurn (but it can at least see the drives again), please post a copy pf the log.
spinningwheel Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Will try Memorex drivers next and see what luck I get.... Anything else you can think of would be appreciated... There is nothing else and new drivers will not help, you are infected. Do as the Boss said and use the recommended rootkit ferret program(s).
