hello everyone,

this is my first time posting, im a newbie, hopefully someone knows what my problem is.

i am trying to back-up an xbox 360 game, but i cannot seem to get imgburn to work.

i am using imgburn 2.4.2.0. and i have bought some Verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5GB 8X

i start the program up and choose the appropriete DVD file and then when i insert the blank DVD it says Disc Not Empty

i tryed updating my firmware and uninstalling and re-installing imgburn and i made sure that my burner IS capable of burning DL discs, but nothing seems to work

the only thing i can think of, is that maybe the discs are no good, cause i can use NERO to burn DVD's and CD's with no problems

Here is the info from the window on the right side of imgburn...

TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L532B DE04 (ATA)

Current Profile: DVD+R DL

Disc Information:

Status: Complete

Erasable: No

Sessions: 1

Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x

That's the problem.

Your drive doesn't think they're 'empty', it's thinks they're 'complete' - i.e. have been burnt to.

btw you should be using 2.4.4.0.

So, my drive is therefor incapable of burning DL discs .... ?

It says that it can write DVD+R DL but cant write DVD-R DL?

But i have a DVD+R DL in the disc tray ... so shouldnt it read?

sorry if i have stupid questions, im a newbie

if i cant get it to work, is my only option buying another drive that supports both -R and +R? can someone recommend one?

thanks for all your help guys and gals

Might be that the burner could need a run with a cleaning disc.

burner is fine, it just will not except DL discs, tryed my brothers ACER Desktop, everything works fine, so im happy, its time for a new laptop soon anyways

thanks for all your help guys
