brillonha Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 i am looking for an exceedingly simple step-by-step guide to burn an AVI file to an Msonic DVD-R 1x-4x (120 min./4.7gb/10pcs) DVD with ImgBurn. can someone set me up with instruction (no need for screenshots) thanks
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Load ImgBurn Write files/folders to disc Drag + drop the AVI into the 'Source' box Insert blank DVD in drive. Click the big 'Write' button. It's not rocket science, honest! You realise you're making a DivX disc there though yeah? ImgBurn doesn't convert video files so if you want a DVD Video disc you'll have to convert it using something like DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD.
brillonha Posted November 24, 2009 Author Posted November 24, 2009 (edited) so youre telling me that unless i convert my file to a dvd image with one of the above softwares, it will not play on a dvd player? i need it to play on any standard dvd player. what format does it need to be converted to so that your method will work? thanks Edited November 24, 2009 by brillonha
Altercuno Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Some of the newer standalone dvd players support avi. Read the book that came with it or burn an avi to rw to see if it plays. Otherwise its as Admin says...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 It's needs to be in 'DVD Video' format to play in any standalone DVD player. You can Google for info on this stuff or visit the websites/forums of the tools I mentioned... this one is for people using ImgBurn.
