robf Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 when i started my imageburner it labels my files as mds instead of iso file type is that going to be a problem and if it is how do i change the file type? Rob F
eSkRo Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) MDS stands for Media Descriptor.... your supposed to have an ISO to go along with it... those 2 work hand in hand... Edited February 16, 2010 by eSkRo

robf Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 i got this message after the copy i made was installed ( please insert the original disc not a bqackup copy ) is this because the program copied the image as a mds instead of an iso file? and if so how do i make the necassry chages to prevent this from happening again so i can copy my pc games and play them ROB F
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 This is probably due to copy protection - something ImgBurn can/will do nothing about.
eSkRo Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 continue here on your original thread --> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=13736 u dont need to make another thread about the same subject...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 You won't get an MDS without an ISO too, so the issue here is with your eyes and your imagination (seeing problems that don't exist)!
robf Posted February 17, 2010 Author Posted February 17, 2010 (topics merged) i belive the problem may have occured because the iso image was in rar format s that possibly my problem?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Nope, the problem is that you've got WinRAR associated with ISO files. Go into the WinRAR options and turn off that file association. You should enable file extensions within Explorer too, then you can truely see what you're working with an won't have to rely on the pretty icons.
