Xproject187 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 (edited) Excuse Me if the answer is rite in front of My face but, I've read the FAQ's & searched the better part of the day away & I've found nothing. I'm on XPSP3 w/a LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1H(LL0D) w/1Gb DDR I successfully made a copy of My Star-Wars Compilation & it plays perfectly on all 4 of My DVD players through-out the house. However if I put the burnt Disc back into the very burner that I used to burn it, I see the strangest things. Allow Me to explain: No matter what program I use, the burnt disc is never seen as a DVD, but rather as one of the following. "Blank DVD" / "Not a DVD" / "Blank DVD+RW with a Bitset of DVD-ROM" . However the Pioneer DVDRam in My Notebook deal's with the burnt disc just fine. In fact I can copy the .img file onto My notebooks hard drive & verify the burnt disc against that copy. It's like the disc, Imgburn & the img all work exactly as expected. The media I'm working with is supposed to be 1st class media > http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm I personally think it's My LH-20A1H(LL0D) but other than this burn, "I've never had this happen before" besides I use My desktop to burn media not my Slimline, so you can clearly see I need to get this sorted out. Also why is it when I put the Sony D21 into My Litey (why didn't it balk then?) before I burnt the copy rather than after? Please any insight to this issue will be greatly anticipated Xproject187 Update: "I thought UN-installing/Reinstalling ImgBurn might help My issue prior to coming to this forum so I don't have a log to add" Edited February 18, 2010 by Xproject187
mmalves Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Post the log from when you've burned that disc with your Lite On burner. You can find the logs from previous operations in ImgBurn's Help menu.

"I thought UN-installing/Reinstalling ImgBurn might help My issue prior to coming to this forum so I don't have a log to add" Is there something else I can do besides reburning the image again to get a log? What's strange is, I've read that verification can be a real pain, But when I put the burnt (D-21) into My notebook, I can copy it off of the D-21 onto the notebook & then verify it via the Notebook no problem! Then re-burn that .img onto a DVD+RW & watch it on the Sony Set-top or PS-II. In other words by all accounts the disc is fine it's just My Litey cant read what it wrote to & was able to read prior to burning to it? Edited February 18, 2010 by Xproject187
mmalves Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 With ImgBurn in Read mode and the burned disc in the drive, please copy and paste here all the media information text shown in ImgBurn's main window.
Xproject187 Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) I believe this is what You asked for, however there are a few Screen Shots I'd really like to show You,. For instance how the laptop's Burner see's the burnt DVD-5 via Img Burn / DVDINFOpro Scans as opposed to the desktop's. PS: I hope You don't mind that I've taken the liberty of attaching 1. ---------------------------------------- LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1H LL0D (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+RW Disc Information: Status: Complete Erasable: Yes Formatted: Yes Sessions: 1 Sectors: 2,295,104 Size: 4,700,372,992 bytes Time: 510:03:29 (MM:SS:FF) TOC Information: Session 1... LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 All I'd do is clean the drive and try some Verbatim/Taiyo Yuden media. If it still messes up after that and with those, you can either ignore the issue and live with it or you can get a new drive.
