How do I know... erm well because this is what I do and I've been doing it for years!

 

You have a common drive and I know what types of disc it supports.

 

Yes we're saying your drive doesn't like the discs you purchased.

 

Double check it can see original/pressed/silver CD-ROM, DVD-ROM discs (to make sure it's not totally broken) before then thinking about buying some more DVD-R or DVD+R.

 

When you do buy some, get either Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden - they're the best.
