eyesee Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Hi all. Just joined up because I tried ImgBurn for the first time a few hours ago and ended up with more 'What the?'s than 'Wow!'s. So I started browsing your extremely detailed Guides and Help files here and I'm no wiser. Look, I think I'm an average guy with average IQ but most of your help files go right over my head. OK, I'm sure that every answer I'd ever need is included in your most excellent guides but, frankly, I need a guide on how to use the guides. Is it possible that some kind person could give me some simple answers to a couple of questions? I mean, these are the most pressing things I'd like to find out right now, more advanced stuff can come later: 1) I've downloaded an ISO containing (according to UltraISO) two files; video_ts and audio_ts. Is it necessary to use an ISO app like UltraISO to extract these files or can ImgBurn do the extraction directly from the ISO? 2) How does the Calculator indicate that the files might NOT fit on a single layer DVD? I mean - flashing lights? Big red warning message? Also, does ImgBurn recognize and cater for dual layer burners? Thanks :-)
eSkRo Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 (edited) 1) ImgBurn can burn ISO files directly to disc dude,,,,, why extract??? 2) insert disc,,, then checkmark 'AUTO' 3) ImgBurn can read & burn Dual Layer discs.... . . . Edited April 4, 2010 by eSkRo
Cynthia Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 It will also tell you if you should need a double layer disc for the iso file or not.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 It helps to know that you don't extract things from ISO (image) files, you just burn them 'as-is' in Write mode. There's an easy guide for that - but I guess finding it assumes you know that an ISO is an Image File. The buttons on the first screen when ImgBurn loads would also mean very little if you didn't know that simple fact. Once you know the basics, you'll find things much easier to understand and follow.
